Decluttering

I have been feeling anxious lately. Everything in my life are going on well despite few hiccups (nothing major) but I still feel unease as if I have a dateline that I need to meet soon. Looking back, I think what triggers this feeling is that we are expecting our firstborn soon. (Sorry I dropped the bombshell just like that). But all of my family and closest friends already knew about this from the start and we only officially announced it on social media last week. I was thinking of writing the pregnancy announcement here first but I realised I have way too many backlog posts to clear. This is what happened when I took the time off blogging and now all of my writing mojo are rushing back to me so fast that I couldn't cope up with.

I am on my 22 weeks now and in less than 20 weeks our baby will arrive. So far I have not doing any major preparation for the baby arrival. I mean I'm barely settling down with moving into my in law place. My belongings are scattered in my old room and my new bedroom. I have too much stuff and the other day I was thinking of doing some major decluttering with my belongings because I still have stuff that I've not worn more than years in my keeping. I mean, why would I still keep those? I have no idea.

My progress of decluttering so far, you ask? Well, I have started with my digital belongings. All of my photos are neatly arranged in my hard drive and properly labelled and I'm going to reformat my laptop. Deleting all the software that I no longer use eg: The Sims. I really enjoy the game but seriously I have real life to play now. So the virtual life of my Sims have to go.

Next on my lists are my wardrobe. This time I'm gonna be strict with myself. Anything that doesn't fit or haven't see the daylight in more than a year have to go. Anything that still in good condition, I will sell on my Carousell or give away to relatives. I think this is the hardest part because God know how many times have I tried to declutter/organise my wardrobe, I always failed. Maybe I will try the popular Konmari way and see whether it works for me.

I guess the point of my post today is that I want to try to live minimally, in term of my belongings. And also because storage space is a big problem for me. Our closet is full now but it only contains 1/3 of my clothes and I already dominated the shoe rack in my in laws place. 2 rows out of 5 rows are all my footwear.

Actually one logical way to solve this problem is to get a place of our own. Trust me, I'm working on it but it is not easy to save up for a property now. One day, I will have a house for my own family. Finger cross that one day will be coming soon.

A story about a man

This is a real life story about a middle aged man. He came from poor family but he's very smart. From young, he was one of the top student in his class. However, due to financial restraint, he was unable to further his study to obtain tertiary education. But luck was on his side,  he got a job offer in government sector.

Life was hard back than. But he still managed to get by with the meager income. He met his wife when he was working in a rural area. They fell in love and got married. It was a simple marriage, they signed the wedding certificate and pronounced husband and wife.

The husband is the breadwinner while the wife stays at home to manage their household. Life was simple back them. Sometimes the man went out for a hunt to provide food on the table. The couple have 4 children, 3 girls and a boy.

After spending years in the rural area, they moved to the city. Life was still simple but they still can manage with just one income. The couple was prudent in their daily life, so that they can save enough money to buy a house to call their own. However, the kids never complained, they were too young to understand. Besides, all that they cared about was having fun. The kids played house with stick and dry leaves, jump of their imaginary lava from one couch to another.

After years of living frugally, they finally living their dreams. They bought their house and got a new car as well. From living in a rented shop house, they moved to a double storey terrace house. They thought they had made it in life. Little did they know, it was a beginning of the downfall.

Money is no longer an issue in their household. They took the kids out for dinner weekly. The wife has stopped cooking for her family. Everyday she would take away food from outside, they can afford luxury in life and buying more and more car, the wife wear lots of gold jewelries as her pride.

Life in the city definitely has changed the man. Money is all that he can think about. He wanted to get more money and fast money. One thing leads to another and he started to gamble. Lucky for him, luck was on his side. He enjoyed the thrills of winning money, taking thousands and thousand Ringgit home. This habit slowly building up and he spent his weekend gambling.

It was a big hit at first. Few years down the road, his luck ran out or rather he get greedy. He started to lose money but he being the egoistic man himself is not willing to accept that he is losing money. It was a few hundreds Ringgits and building up to thousands Ringgit,

But a gambler is a gambler. He resolved to taking loan from unauthorized person. This is where everything goes downhill for him. He is not willing to go back to his frugal day. He loves the money and the luxury. One day, he lost big time and desperate for money. He slowly building up his debts. At first, he managed to pay it all back.

Sadly old habit die hard. He keep on gambling with the hope to relive his glorious day. He gambled day and night and building up a huge amount of debt from loan shark. Things at home are no longer happy. His wife is oblivious to his habit. But the kids know. His kids are growing up and they no longer the innocent kids that once he can lied to. The loan sharks are unforgiving to their customers. He had to borrow money from people around him. Lots of excuses were thrown to relative to cover his gambling habit. He lied to them telling them that he needed the money to send his kids to university.

The life of a gambler is a cycle. He paid his debt but went back to gambling and again accumulating a huge sum of debts. This time he is desperate. He sold his luxury jewelries, sold one of his car and borrow money from relative again. Sadly, his mask fell off. Everyone knew about  his habit and refused to help him. His relationship with his kids are strained by money. He even forces them to give him their life saving. The kids are baffle, where is the father that they once know? The man that in front of them right now is possessed with money.

Helping a gambler by lending money to them is not helping them but actually further encourage them to gamble. He is a wise middle aged man, he know the consequences of his action and yet he chose to ignore it. Now everything is coming back to haunt him. Too bad he is all caught up in materialistic world that he forgot about his moral values. Now nobody can help him except himself.

What kind of legacy that he wants to leave behind is up to him. If he is not willing to change, the ending is not gonna be rainbow. People say man grow wiser as they age but sadly this is not the case here.

Do you know who is this man? Or does this story sound familiar to you?

Carousell or Carouhell?

If you do most of your shopping online, I'm sure you have heard of Carousell. Carousell is the app for you to sell or buy anything at a discounted price because it is pre-loved although more and more online stores joining Carousell lately.

Before signing up for Carousell, I have heard so much about it. It's a mix review, some love it and some hate it. I even took it to Twitter and asked for opinion.

Guess who answered me?

After much consideration, I signed up and started to spring cleaning my closet. I have too much clothes that been sitting at the back of my closet for more than a year. It is definitely time for someone else to shower them with love.

I have my listing up and me being me, I scrolled through the app and found some items that I liked. That is how I got from trying to sell my stuff and ended up buying more stuff. ='=

So far, I have pleasant experience with sellers from Carousell, they are honest and have prompt response. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for my sister. I introduced her to Carousell because I know that she's been looking for a particular style of sandals. What I forgot to tell her was to check on her seller. Carousell has a section for seller or buyer to leave comment about their seller or buyer.

I have zero reviews because I haven't sell anything on my list.

My sister was so excited for her sandals that she transferred her money immediately the next day. After waiting for 3 days without response from the seller, she checked on her account and to her horror, the account was suspended.

Many has reported the account due to fraud and Carousell suspended it. We read through the current comment thread on the account and found out others were being cheated by the seller too. She was devastated. Her dream sandals and money were gone. For her, it's Carouhell.

I was feeling sorry for her and forgot to remind her to check on the review section. As for me, I have wonderful experience shopping at Carousell. The sellers are honest in stating the fault in their items if there is any and very prompt in replying my message. The interest buyers that inquired about my items are polite too.

I got the floral kimono from Carousell for less than RM20.

Do check out my list here if you're intrested. For anyone that try Carousell before, do share your experience with me, I love to hear about it. If you have anything that you want to let go, sign up for it, you know what they say, one man thrash is another man treasure.

I can handle this

Are you sick of my Phnom Penh post yet? Fret not, I have a lot more to come hahahha. And I'm still talking about my second day there after 3 blog posts. It was definitely an eye opening experience for me and of course I have a lot to talk about. But I'll save that for another post. Right now, I just want a break from my travel post and just jot down how I currently feel like.

I don't know how to describe my feeling but it is negative. This whole week I have been feeling down for no reason or for the slightest things ever. It doesn't help either that there is a lot of complains in my work place. Surrounded by people complaining everyday drained my spirit and energy quicker than anything else.

I really hope the mood swing is just PMS. The timing is about right. But then I really hope it come faster because I will go on an exciting trip this month end. I am really looking forward for the break plus it will be my first solo trip and I have been planning this for over a year. At least there is something to look forward to.

Before I pack my suitcase and enjoy myself, I have a big work event this whole week. Everyone in the company are involved and the upper management people are coming down for this too. So, it is quite a stressful week ahead but it is okay. I can handle this.

Current wish

Throwback to 2 months ago when the bestie was back

I have been trying to cook a lot back in Feb/March. The inspiration came in when I was bore one day, so I was on Youtube watching random videos and ended up watching some cooking channels. Everything they did on camera seem so easy. Add in a tiny bit of salt for taste they said. I added mine, it was tasteless. Add a little more and it was too salty ='=

My current favorite dish to cook. Aglio olio seafood. So easy and quick to make. The only downside with pasta dish is the pasta itself takes quite some time to cook. But I can whip this up less than 10 minutes if minus the pasta cooking time.

I tried making mash potatoes the other day and dare I say, it was sooooo good and super easy too. Same goes to my roast chicken and baked fish. If you notice I only love making western dish. It is because it is easy, quick and almost fool proof. The chinese dish and others are quite hard, at least for a beginner like me and time consuming.

Went to celebrate Sara birthday at the new cafe, Horisen One Cafe last week. Hoe was performing there too. There are so many new cafes popping out in Sibu lately that I can't even keep up with. Horisen One is good but it was hot as it is open air, thus no aircond. Which leads to mosquitoes ='=
Food wise, the price is okay but there are still room for improvement in their food.

Our side profile are definitely our best side. lololol

Not the right time

I almost take the plunge and take the biggest commitment ever in my life today. And I'm not even talking about marriage. I almost bought a house. When I started working years ago, I told myself that I should own a property on my own by the age of 25.

Yeah, the young me was so naive.

I had been on a lookout for a house that suits my budget and found one last week. It is a brand new project from a first time developer. I went to the site to survey the area and quite like it. I even done some intensive research on everything from mortgage loan, MRTA, legal fees etc. It feels like I'm reliving my Personal Banker day.

However I still have doubt about this decision. Committing myself to a mortgage means that I have to cut back on my spending. Means no more holidays as often as I want. Whenever I see anything that I like, I'll have to tell myself, xxx equals to 20 tiles and so on. Everything will revolves around the house.

I talked to some of my ex-colleagues and they told me only go for the house if I am really ready, financially and emotionally. I should decide if I ever to buy the house, what is it for, investment or for myself to live in? How about the maintenance of the house? IS the location really good?

After all the talking, I've decided to hold back this year. There's no use to rush the decision because of GST and everything. I don't want to empty my savings just for the sake of owning a property. I'm sad to let go of the house, it has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (this is a huge point for me) but I believe I'll found another house that can make me fall in love with it again.

My Number 76 Experience

I have heard almost every bloggers rave about the popular Japanese hair salon that takes Malaysia by the storm, Number 76. I was very keen to try on the service since it is a Japanese hair salon and the Japanese is popular with their top notch service.

Few months back when I was in KL, I booked an appointment to get my hair done in their Bangsar 2 branch. I needed a new hair color and hair treatment to make sure my hair is presentable to the public.

All set and ready for my hair makeover. I booked Amy for color and treatment. Number 76 is running promotion from time to time and during my visit, it was free scalp treatment if you do Ultrasonic Treatment.

Unfortunately, I could not do the treatment if I color my hair as it will be too harsh for my fine hair, as advised by Amy. I couldn't bleach my hair too because my hair will not be able to survive it.

The state of my hair at that moment. Dry and frizzy at the end and horrible black root.

Frizzy end but lucky not much split ends.

I booked for Amy, so I'm expecting her to do the consultation and coloring for me. I've screenshot lots of hair colors that I wanted to experiment for but too bad my hair couldn't take bleaching. So almost all no-no for me :(

Instead Amy suggested red for me as it suited my skin tone better. Initially, I wanted ash color but the color will makes me look dull and pale without make up. So it was red for me.

After the consultation, a junior hairstylist worked on my hair. Honestly, I feel a bit cheated because the rate that I paid for was for senior hairstylist. But oh well..

Done with coloring and the junior hairstylist styling my hair. He wanted to curl it for me but my hair is too fine and curls turned out to look like half assed job. One side was perfect while another side half straight half curl. He looked damn frustrated with the result and I just laughed it off.

In the end, my hair looked like this, half curled perfectly and half curled inward and gone straight after half an hour.

Red hair alert! hahaha it looked bright red under the sun.

My review on the famous Number 76:
1) A little overpriced as I only get consultation from the senior hairstylist and it was the junior hairstylist that worked on my hair 100%.

2) I absolutely love the color and my hair looked shiny and healthy after. Unfortunately, the color only lasted me for two good weeks. It was my hair problem because every colors I've had faded after two weeks because I wash my hair daily.

As it was my first time, they gave me member card and 20% discount as well as RM20 voucher which I used to buy color shampoo.

It was okay for me but I doubt I will come back next time.

Hello 2015

As I was done writing the wrap up of my 2014, I started to outline my 2015 and frankly I'm quite excited about it. Although my 2015 plans do not differ much from the previous year, still I am very much anticipating it. This year I can no longer call myself as young adult, I'll be in my late 20's. Wtf that sounds so old. I've spent some times last year to evaluate myself and trying to change to be a better person.

1) Be a better me
This will be an on-going process for me as I believe I have a lot to work on like be patient, stop cursing when I'm driving, be punctual (trust me, I've tried but oh well) and eliminate toxic people around me. If I can't help it, I'll just distant myself away.

2) Practice healthy lifestyle
I really mean it this time and hopefully can maintain the habit. The best progress for me in 2014 is just 2 weeks. This time I won't aim too high, just clean eating and exercise once a week is good enough for a starter. The last time I hit the gym was back in October last year. New year new beginning, huh?

3) Travelling
I already had my travelling for this year lined up since last year and looking at it, I'm so thrill because I'll be going to new places. I'm slowly venturing into southeast Asia and looking forward to new experiences that those places will offer me. So far my travelling plans including Cambodia, Bali and Hong Kong.

4) Spend more time with my dog
Every time I came home knackered from work, all that I wanna do is just lying down and take a nap. Pino is always so excited to see me but I really have no energy to play or walk him. Most of the time, I just smooch him and let him out to do his business, he'll come back in once he's down. Recently I watched a viral video in Youtube and it breaks my heart to imagine Pino going through the same thing every time I go out. He always waiting for me by the door when I come back. So now I spend at 10 minutes a day walking him around the neighborhood and he loves it.

5) Practice gratitude
Be grateful and thankful for every little things in my life is something that I do not do as often as I wish. I took everything for granted before and learnt my lesson the hard way. The Universe decided to give me a second chance and I'm very thankful for that. Expressing my gratitude has help me to count my blessing as well.

So far my 2015 is off to a great start and I will try my best to practice what I preach here.

Becoming Becky Bloomwood

Something is utterly bothering me today when I did my monthly finance check. Yup, I did this every month to make sure I do not go overboard with my spending and yet I failed EVERY SINGLE MONTH!! And this month is the worst that I've ever had.

I've overspent my money. My non existing future money. There, I've said it.

I was super shocked when I check my credit card bill. I thought there is a mistake and did a double check and realized I did swiped my card for all those purchase.

Who knows all those small purchases added up could burnt such a big hole in my pocket. Well, this is a super expensive lesson for the shopaholic me. I hate to admit this but no more nonsense shopping for me for at least two months and my cards are now tucked away in safe so that I won't use them anymore. Or at least until year end.

Now I know how Becky Bloomwood felt like when she received those letters from bank. I also understand how she felt like when she saw something in store that she wants to buy.

Sorry B-bag, it might take me another year to save to own you now. :(

**Post note: In case you misunderstood, I do not receive letter from bank. The letter in case is my credit card bill.

What's on your mind?

At the beginning of the year, I've made a list of resolutions which included to write more in my blog. I know I I've failed this one without checking my archive. No time to write, nothing to write, not inspired to write. I guess all those are excuses.

The real reason for lack of updates is probably that more people that I know read my blog, I feel restricted to express myself because I'm scared of being judge.

Why she only post pictures of herself?

Again, another lovey dovey post of her and her bf?

Another seeker! Getting all emo also need to tell the whole world.

Those are just in my head of course, I have no idea what's going through their mind when they read my blog. Last few years I wrote freely because nobody know the existence of this space. I'm not saying that I don't like people read what I've wrote because the purpose of the blog is to share. It's just that feel different when people that I know read what I wrote here.

All the jumble thoughts in my head, they know. It becomes scary because I don't want them to know everything but at the same time, I need to express myself somewhere. A physical journey won't do it for me because I ehem need spelling check to spell some words. Yup, the convenience of spelling check here has finally takes its toll on my grammar sadly.

But after some thought, I've decided to be just myself, to write whatever I want, to rant, to whine, to be emo etc because after all, I'm only human that experience the up and low of life.

And this is the space where I want to document my life.

So, cheers to a new start (?) where I'll be writing more here.

Saving up

I have come to the age where people start to open new chapter in their life, be it engagement, marriage, having kids or simply start investing in property. I'm kinda aware that the clock is ticking and next thing I know, I'm turning 30. Naturally, I know that I'm at the stage where I should know where I'm heading in the next 5 years. Marriage and kid are not on top on my list at the moment but property is.

When I started working 3 years ago, I told my self that I should buying my own property by the age of 25 but a friend of mine said it was impossible unless I joint-venture with my life partner. I brushed her opinion aside.

And now, I take back my words. The property value is flying high like rocket these day. Last week, I went to see a semi-detached double story, a regular size house and the price is RM700K, that's like more than half a million. ='=

That night I started to plan my savings and realized how careless I'm with my spending. I spend whenever I want, though lately I had been really good. But still, I should have save up those Ringgit. I used to record how much I have spent everyday in a little notebook but give up half way. I know someone who did this and thought that these people too frugal. I guess I was wrong.

So, I may have to postpone my over ambitious dream to own a property at the age of 25 but I've learnt my lesson. It is never too late to start saving up or to be frugal. I'm kidding about the latter.

Life at the moment

Have you ever feel so uninspired about life and wondering why are you here at this particular moment, doing what are you doing right now, while your heart and mind wandering off to the other side of the world.

That’s exactly how I feel right now. Trying to find the purpose of why am I doing what I did now.

Oh yeah, it is making ends meet.

If you ask me what I want for Christmas, I would say a holiday anywhere. Yes, I’m aware that I just got back from KL & Melaka last month, Bintulu two weeks ago and Kuching last week. But half the trip is about work or rushing here and there trying to make the most of my time there. In the end, I’m just exhausted.

What exactly I want is taking my sweet time exploring and experiencing life. I don’t want to rush by others, certainly not being led by others too.
I just want to sit by the pool with a good book in my hand,
Not thinking about anything else, not work, not deadlines, not plans.
Or I just waking up each morning without a rush, making breakfast for the loved one,
Cleaning my room, chucking away old clothes, dusting the books on the shelves.

Sometimes I think it’s the mid life crisis that depressed me.
I wanted to go everywhere, ticking off as much as I can in my bucket list
Just so that I won’t have regrets later on in life.
That’s literally means I need to work my ass off.
Stuck in the office desk from 8.30 to 5.30.
But when I have the money, I don’t have the time.
I already exhausted my leave for this year.
And only been away on real holiday twice, a week each.

It’s true what they said,
When you’re young, you have the time and energy but not the money
When you’re adult, you have the money and energy but not the time
When you’re old, you have the time and money but not the energy.
Life’s funny, isn’t it?

I wonder would my life been in a different path if I decided not take a gap year after my degree. I probably will not be this travel deprived. But then again, I was poor back then.
I should have saved up some money when I was still studying.
Just so that I can afford to travel more before starting work.

But I am in a good place in life now and should be grateful.
I have a good paying job and still can make time to travel.
The bf always reminds me that we decide how we want our day to be,
We’re in control of it.

He’s right.
I’m thankful and grateful for what I have now.
I’m in good health, have a job, deeply in love with a man that loves me back as much as I love him, have great family support albeit all the fights sometimes and greats friends that I can always count on.
Yes, I am thankful to God.

I’m sorry if you just spent 5 minutes of your life that you can’t claim back to read my incoherent words diarrhea.

Well, count your blessings, not your problem. J

Pet Peeve

Today let's talk about pet peeves. I'm in a mood to compiling all sorts of things that annoy me. First, I need to explain what pet peeve means because I asked or told (can't remember which because it was long time ago) someone before about pet peeve and he thought I was talking about pet. -_______________- major fail.

Pet peeve means an irritating experience caused by others in which you cannot control. Basically means anything that others do that beyond your control and piss you off. Well, I have a lots.

#1 Slow driver on fast lane.

Please tell me how could you not be angry at these kind of drivers. It called fast lane for a reason after all. Morons are everywhere on the road these days, so I kinda accepting this fact already. Because if not, my blood pressure probably going high. So not worth it.

#2 Lazy people
What I mean by lazy people is not the lazy, don't want to do this, don't want do that kind. We all have our lazy days after all. This laziness that I talk about here is the super lazy till don't want to use their eyeball to see words/signs and read it.

I saw this kind of lazy people in the internet all the time. Like someone post up a picture of food and tagged the place, still got people commented and asked Looks yummy, where is this? Hello, he/she already tagged the place, you so lazy cannot read is it? Or maybe they just plain stupid.

One more example is when people already wrote some sort of explanation of their picture, be it the name of places, food name etc. Be sure to find someone asking in the comment Wow, where is that? It happened to me and really boiled my blood.

See!

Tell me how could I not be angry when I specifically already wrote Phuket in my caption and people had the courtesy to ask where. Maybe he never heard of Phuket. Turned out he really never heard of it in the end because he replied me saying Phuket is unknown country ='=

Sigh, with the power of internet these day, you still see this kind of people floating around.

#3 People whom never pay what they owe or delaying it on purpose
Someone was using my money to purchase something online and promised me will pay me back in the evening. Thinking that this someone will pay me back, I didn't withdraw money for my expenses this week since this someone will pay me in cash. But this someone forgot to withdraw money to pay me back. So, I said okay since I got 50 bucks left. This someone promised to pay the next day instead. The next day came and this someone still gave me the same reason, some more rolling her fucking eyes at me (yeah, it's a her) when I asked for the money.

HELLO, YOU OWE ME MONEY, YOU PAY ME BACK! I'M GOOD ENOUGH LET YOU CHARGE YOUR PURCHASE ON MY CARD AND I MYSELF WILL PAY FOR THE SERVICE TAX AT THE END OF YEAR, YOU STILL GOT GUT ROLLED YOUR EYES ON ME. IF YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY, LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. FUCK YOU.

Well, that's a blast. I am super angry right now because the above situation just happened.

#4 One sided listener
What I mean by one sided listener is someone whom only listen to one side of the story and starts assuming. This kind of people is the worst. They don't even know the whole story and already they decided who's at fault. Are you even know what actually happened? Are you there witnessing the whole time? Yeah, you heard that side of the story, how about my side now? So, she/he's the only in their life have problems and I don't? 别人有苦衷,我就没有?My blood just boils by typing this.

The more I write, the angrier I get because I encountered all of those above especially #3 and #4 which is just few hours ago. I have more pet peeves actually but I think I had wrote enough. But it feels good actually to jot everything here. I haven't been this raw in my writing for quite some time because I fear of being judge. But then again, this is my blog and my space, so if I have a bad day or angry at someone/something, I have all the right to whine/curse/rant here.

So, forgive me if you just waste 5 minutes of your life to read about my pet peeve. Now you can close this tab and thank you for reading.

Toothache.

Last Monday I felt a slight discomfort in my gum. First I thought it was just the mild toothache that usually came when I ate/drink anything too sweet. The discomfort normally went away after I brush my teeth. Oh boy, how wrong was I. The discomfort grew into pain when the night came.

I had to take a Panadol to ease the pain. First thing that crossed my mind is the nightmare of growing wisdom teeth. I pleaded for it not too be as painful as everyone described. Again, my plead to the Universe left unattended. I woke up in the middle of the night with greater pain and had to resort for another quick remedy, the Panadol.

I woke up the next morning barely able to open my mouth. My face was super swollen and I know there's no escape from the dentist this time. It hurt so bad that I just sat and cried on my bed.

Thank God for the painkiller, the pain subsided and of course no more moody me.
Now the problem is that the antibiotics that my dentist prescribed had side effects on me. He warned me this beforehand but I never had any side effect from antibiotics before so I just shrugged it off.

I was happy that my face no longer swollen and no more pain. Everything was great and I was all smiley until this evening when I was off from work. Here comes the side effects, I felt weak and nausea and vomited.
I guess I have to take the antibiotics back to the dentist and exchange for something milder.
If you're wondering, I was prescribed Beamoxy 250mg and Metronidazle 400mg.

Till now my dentist haven't confirmed whether it is the wisdom teeth or gum infection.
I have an X-ray appointment this Saturday to find out.
Suddenly, the weekend doesn't seems so appealing to me anymore.
Arghhhh.. I'm dreading it.

I'm Back

Hello Internet! I had been neglecting this site of mine for almost a month. Well, like I've said in my last post, I was away to Melaka-JB-SG with the bf for a week. Right after coming back, I had a lot to adjust to because bf is finally finishing his degree and now back for good. Plus, work was piling up for me.

And now I just got back from my beach holiday at Phuket. I had an amazing time exploring the island. More updates will be coming soon. I miss my blog. In the meantime if you want a faster update, do follow me on Instagram (@suzmellisa) or better yet, let be friends on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/suzmellisa) but please message me first so that I know who you are and can approve your request.

Travel woes

I have been very very excited about leaving behind work for a week and just enjoy myself shopping and roaming around the streets of some new places. But my excitement kinda die when the Indonesia decided to get rid of forest by slash and burn in Sumatra for the development of their crop. This irresponsible act has jeopardize the air in their neighbors country, Singapore (which is badly affected, the PSI yesterday reached 400 which is hazardous level) and some states in West Malaysia.

Coincidence enough, those are all the places that I'll be going to tomorrow. I have planned this since last year, to take a week off and just travel across the states from KL and down to Singapore. But the irresponsible party just ruin everything. I don't know the rules and law in that country but it is common sense to know that burning the forest will cause terrible air pollution and haze. It's okay if their people are actually accepts the fact that they will live in such a polluted environment but why never think of other people outside of their country? Hmm hello, smoke can travel across country, you know? And why is it okay to use the slash and burn technique on your crops? Did the management never learn the environmental impact assessment? It's like the basic of everything. I still have my notes on EIA if they want to learn the basic? *totally in rage*

I had just recovered from a bad cough this week and don't want to be sick again especially when I'm travelling. The bf had been updating me with the haze in Melaka and it's not pretty. It's been few days but still hazy. And I guess it is pretty bad in Johor too. And to think that I'll be in that haze to shop and eat, I already feeling pretty sick.

And I just bought my Universal Studio Singapore tickets last few weeks. T_T How to enjoy outdoor like that the air is not clearing out? Lucky the tickets valid till December, so I'll probably will have to cancel everything. Also I just found out last week that I will miss Rainforest World Music Festival too because of my USS plan. First I thought, that's okay if I miss RWMF, at least I can have some fun at USS, but now I'll be missing both. *fucking piss off*

I really really hope the haze will be clear in the next few days. And I also hope karma will get back to whoever cause this haze. (You fucking know who you are)

Bye, I got to pack now.

Oh, if anyone have any tips or must do/ must eat things in Melaka/Johor/Singapore, feel free to let me know.
Thanks in advance. Bye

Weekly Recap #1

Nothing really exciting going on in my life this week as I had been down with mild fever and fucking nonstop hardcore coughing. Sigh, it must be the combination of overly hot weather + lack of sleep last week. Every now and then, I could feel that my body is burning hot inside, if you know what I mean. My breath is hot and nasal and throat feel hot too. I've watched everything that I've eaten this week (last Thursday's KFC is an exception because I wanted it so much) and drink only hot lemon and water but still, no progress. I even religiously took Scott's Emulsion to build a stronger antibody.

What even worst is that I couldn't get a good night sleep these past two days. I was really anticipating weekend because this weekend is the only free weekend for me with nothing lining up but the fact that I couldn't sleep well at night already ruined my mood. The worst was on Friday night, I went yamcha with my girl friends and I almost lost my voice. Then I couldn't sleep AT ALL at night. I was probably overdose with cough syrup too because I took a big gulp of two different cough syrup within half an hour. I was tossing here and there on bed, frustrated because my body was so tired but my mind was wide awake. I only slept around 5-ish in the morning and feel even awful waking up at noon.

My girl friend and me with her puffy cheeks

I'm currently working on a secret project of mine which is something that I have always wanted to start. I'm so excited but it still a long way to go as there are a lot of things that I need to finalize but once it is ready, I sure will share it with you guys. Finger cross everything will goes smoothly.

Other than that, I'm very excited for my mid year vacation soon with the bf. Only one more week to go for my much needed holiday. The only downside is that I realize I will miss Rainforest World Music Festival this year. I thought RWMF is in July but it is on the end of June which clashes with my holiday. That's a bummer but one can't have it all, ain't it?

At Father's Day lunch today
Am so in love with this dress but too tired to take any full length picture because I still feel sick

Gonna hit the sack early tonight to prepare for another round of tossing-here-and-there-till-my-mind-is-tired-enough-to-sleep because I need to work tomorrow. Bye!

Tips for online shopping

So ladies, today I'm gonna share my online shopping tips. Bet most of us shop more online than at the actual stores now. Well, I know I do because I can't really remember when was the last time I shopped for clothes at the actual stores. Must be in the last February I think. :) I even buy skincare and makeup online too now. Yay for technology!

Here are my tips for online shopping based on my own experience.

1) Research
This is my golden rule when it come to virtue shopping. There are so many blogshops and Facebook shops these days, so ladies, do your research before placing your order. Check where they got their supplies and make sure you are familiar with material types such as cotton (Sure everyone know this already), elastane, cotton spandex mix, polyester and so on. So that you know what to expect when you receive your parcel and you can generally know whether it is comfortable for you as well. I once made a mistake by placing my order without checking the material. I was quite disappointed when my garment came and totally different from what I've expected. However, I only got myself to blame because I was too excited to check beforehand.

2) Compare
If you have spent numerous hours on shopping sites on the net, you probably notice that the trends are somewhat similar. It's best for you to compare several sites that carry similar trends/items that you wanted, so that you can do comparison in term of price, shipping fee, discount, and delivery time. Then you can decide what's best for you (and your bank account too!). I only started to do this comparison lately because I got more exposure to others similar online stores other than the ones that I frequent. And guess what, I did managed to get a better deal too.

3) Review
When it comes to review for some online stores, Goggle is your best friend. Do read some reviews by bloggers. To help you to decide which reviews are helpful, first you need to differentiate whether the bloggers are sponsored or it came from their own shopping experience. Disclaimer here though, I'm not saying that review from sponsored bloggers are not honest or good because I believe that they only accept sponsorship from shops that they trusted. But you have to know it yourself what kind of services/products that caters to your need. From there you can decide whether it suits you or not.

4) Wait
Good thing comes to those who wait, this saying is so true. If you eyeing any piece or item and Mother's Day/Valentines Day/Labor Day or any other special occasions is around the corner, I'll say wait and don't place your order yet because sometimes online shops tend to have contest or sales going on for the occasion. See, waiting can save you a few bucks or better yet get more items for less than the actual price. But if you scare your item will be out of stock, then quickly snatch it away. I don't want to be the reason for you to miss your favorite item, I know how depressing it can be :)

5) Combine
If you have friends/families who love online shopping as much as you do, shop together with them and combine your purchases to save on the shipping fee. Especially if you are like me whom lives on East Malaysia, the shipping fee by standard is much more expensive. Some sites only offer free shipping to Peninsular Malaysia, so it's a bit frustrating for me. But there's a way if there's a will. I always ship my purchase to the bf since he's residing at Peninsular now and he would bring back my stuffs when he's coming home or I'll bring it back myself when I visit him. The only downside is the waiting period.

Again, I stress it here that all of my tips are coming from my own online shopping experience and I hope it helps you guys in one way or another. Happy shopping, ladies!

Temptation | work | fitness

You guys know how much I love shopping but lately I have to spend wise because I'm on a sort of shopping ban because I wanna save up money for travelling but well, temptations are everywhere and I couldn't help it. I'm the kind of girl that get bore easily and I'll browse the net to pass time. And yeah, time does flies when I'm on the net, so does my money. It was so easy to shop in my pj, lying on my bed, clicking here and there and voila, my parcels will arrive in the next few days.

But I see an improvement in myself lately. I tend to stall longer and think thoroughly this time. I no longer shop on impulse. The biggest improvement ever.
                 *********************************

Yesterday (Friday) was the busiest day that I ever had in my entire working life. But I still managed it and finally learn to say no to those whom push their works to me. It gave me the biggest satisfactory ever. Because it such an easy calculation, I see no point for me to calculate everything for others because they themselves can do it. It is just a matter of they want or not. And well, I obviously do not want to do it.
                 *********************************

I have decided to get back on track for keeping fit lately starting by doing some squats challenge at home. This is the area that I really have been slacking on and I couldn't bear the thought of my flabby tummy and thighs anymore. My current workout only involves squatting and cardio. Finger cross real hard that my determination won't die halfway.
                 *********************************

I have some sort of plans that I'm still working on right now. Instead of just dreaming, I think it's time for me to start sketching my plan and working on it because all dreams no work means no real success. A friend of mine used to tell me that getting started is the biggest challenge ever. It takes lot of determination and I hope I got what it takes.

Have a great weekend, peeps.

Sunday's Rants

I have been keeping a lot of things to myself lately because seriously, if I were to speak my mind out loud, lots of people are going to be offended. Where else to blurt everything out if not on my own personal space here.

When I was little, we were told to get good result in school, get a degree, get a job and find your other half. I have ticked 'checked' on all the list now but something is missing. I'm not happy. Not to say that I'm not content with my current situation and I'm not being grateful for all the blessing in my life. But I always feel like something is missing.

I always feel like there's something more to life than just peacefully passing your day. I need an adventure, trying something new. If there's one thing that I regret, it would be me not saving enough money during my uni time and use it for my gap year adventure. I want to explore the world outside there. Often I read about others travel tales and adventures, I always made a mental note to myself: I must go there too, I need to experience those too. I know I still can do it now too but with a job on the line, I feel like I'm being tie up with an invisible rope. There's more to consider, I have restricted time.

Everyday is pretty much a routine for me and I hate it. I hate doing the same thing over and over again for 5 days a week. Maybe this is the root of my problem. It's the routine. I just need to shake things up a little bit.

Move on to another thing that really fire me up is how most people these day are playing the sympathy cards. They always always rely on others to get them something that they should have done it themselves. The problem is whatever they need is actually something that they can work for themselves. But why ask from others? Is it because others have more in their life so they are obliged to help you out? Don't they know that money does not fall from the sky into their lap? Yes, others may have more than you but have you ever thought that they have more because they work harder? And the worst case is, these people are not even appreciating the opportunities given to them to change their lives. Seriously, people? What is wrong with you?!

Rants over, now I feel a lot better.

Rude people need to be taught!

When I was suddenly down with gastric on last Thursday, I thought it was just a normal gastric attack. Popped my gastric pill and I expected the pain to go away. But I was wrong. Around midnight, the pain attacked again and twice the pain before. It felt more like an abdominal pain and I had to lie in fetus position and put pressure on my stomach to ease the pain.

I couldn't freaking sleep all night at all. And this was the first time I experienced such an intense pain that it scared me to be honest. I mean, it could be something worse (touchwood!).  So the next morning, I rushed myself to clinic.

The clinic was packed and it was just 10 mins past 8 in the morning. But there's only one man at the registration counter so I queued up behind him. And then, this Auntie whom just entered the clinic, pretended to talk to the girl behind the counter and she freaking fucking sneaked into my line and cut my queue.

I was in pain and not in the mood to tolerate any stupid old lady whom cut my line. Oh God, sometimes people are really beyond stupid and rude. Queuing up in a line is one basic courtesy. She knew that I was angry as I caught her glancing at me before pretending that she did not cut my line. Her daughter came in after her and they both just blocked me from the counter. So when it was my their turn, I may or may not have said "Bitch" out loud.

I let them got away this time but I will not tolerate this kind of rude people next time. They need to be teach some lesson but of course I do not dare to simply scold people la, scare later kena shoot. You guys know la,  be careful not to step on the wrong foot  in Sibu.

This is what my doc prescript to me.

Turnout it was just a normal gastric attack, nothing much serious but I still got gastric a bit today. I seriously have no idea what went wrong. I do not skipped meal but still occasionally got gastric. I didn't eat any spicy food or sour food also this week. Eat too much also can trigger gastric.

Anyway, I had been watching 2 Broke Girls these two days and I absolutely love it. I love Max wittiness and sarcasms. I kinda inspired to bake cupcake too but I have no oven. I tried baking cupcake before but failed (I blogged about it but too lazy to go through my archive) 2 Broke Girls is a good chill out series but if you can't take sarcasm, then this is not your kind of series.

That's all for now, gotta get back to my series.
