Holiday Hauls

One thing that really excites me about travelling international is the duty free shop at the airport. I kid you not. Oh, I'm not talking about tobacco products (it is way way cheaper before tax), liquor or chocolate as well as perfume.

It is the skin care and make up that make me beaming from ear to ear. Every time I browse skin care and make up at duty free, my logic all gone out the window. It doesn't matter that I still have 2 brand new cleansers, multiple masks/moisturizers/mascaras at home, I still feel the need to purchase more.

It is like I'm only travel international a few times per year so die die must make use of the duty free. Not that I know how much the price difference but every thing does feel cheaper when you swipe your card. Just be prepare for the heart attack when you're opening your credit card statement that month.

I was away to Bali last week with my sister and we went a tiny bit crazy at the duty free. I was only looking for eye cream because I've ran out of my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repaired Eye cream. And I came out with basically whole set of skin care to makeup wtf.

My duty free loots

One of my biggest weakness at the duty free shop is travel size items. It is perfect for travelling (duh) and a great opportunity to try new products.

I got this travel size products from Kiehl's featuring the Ultra Facial Creme, Avocado Creamy Eye Treatment, Amino Acid Shampoo, The Original Rich Nourishing Creme, Hand Salve and a Lip Balm #1 (which is in my bag) for only RM299.

I think this one is a steal considering the Ultra Facial Creme, Hand Salve and Lip Balm are in full size. I also got the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye which I still forgot to use at night now. MAC Studio Fix is an impulse buy for me. I've finish my compact powder and in need of a new one. I was using Loreal True Match (the rectangular one) but I think they discontinue it. So I got Loreal Real Paris Lucent Magique  Tri Powder. I did tried my sister's Studio Fix and really love it. So she dragged me to MAC counter and let the MUA picked my shade. Since it is cheaper than buying outside, I purchased the Studio Fix.

Long story short, I had very little self control when it comes to skin care and make up shopping. Same thing happened when we're in Sephora in Bali.

My sister made me Googled Sephora Bali and made it a must for us to stop by ='=

And stopped by we did. In the span of one hour waiting for her to tried on all the lipsticks there, I came out with a big bag of stuff and instantly became poorer. Truth is, I do not need anything at all because I have so much excess skin care and make up products at home.

But I just kept on putting more and more stuff into my basket.

And these are our hauls combined.

I got the Glam Glow set which came with full size Glam Glow Tingling and Exfoliating Mud Mask, mini size of Supermud Mask, Facial Cleanser and duo applicator brush. I already tried the Mud Mask and loves it so much. I will do a separate review post soon.

Another items which are mine are the Dr Jart BB cream and the Beauty Blender and Beauty Blender cleanser as well as Porefessional Matte Rescue which apparently a better version of the old one.

I did have something on my must buy list for this trip, which is dry shampoo. Batiste Dry Shampoo is my holy grail product because it really helps my oily hair and extends the day between washes. Sadly, it is very difficult to get. It is sold online but they can't ship to Sarawak except Hermo but the price in Hermo is like almost double the original price.

The only place that I know carries Bariste Dry Shampoo is Jaya Grocer in KLIA2. I even purposely purchased 15kg of luggage allowance to lug back the dry shampoo.

I got 5 bottles of the full size.

My favorite scents which are Cherry and Fresh are not available so I chose whatever is left. I also wiped the mini dry shampoos off the shelf. I go through one bottle of the spray in a month. This product helps me so much in the morning because I can just skip hair wash and sleep for extra 15 minutes. Also it adds volume to my limp hair.

Random buy from Bali:

Bath and Body Works mini candles.

They're having Buy 3 get 1 free promotion so my sister and I get two each.

These are my random buy at Bali Airport because I wanted to finish off my Rupiah.

Oh yeah, I did bought something apparel wise and it is something that I have been on the hunt for. I missed the chance to get it while I was in Hong Kong and randomly stumbled upon it at KLIA2. It was on my birthday wishlist.

My black Nike Roshe

I am so happy to finally got this sneaker. It will perfect for travelling and will match any outfit effortlessly. That means two things off my birthday wishlist now. Feeling so grateful and thankful that my wishes are coming true.

What was I thinking?!

I never label myself as a hoarder but I am having hard time letting go of my stuff most of the time. Often I find my heart debating with my brain whether to throw the dress to my "to keep" pile or "to throw" pile. Sadly, the heart always win.

In my new year new me spirit, I decided to do one last spring cleaning. I just did one awhile ago and threw away tons of clothes that I no longer wear.
This time, I'm determine to let go of clothes that I haven't wear in 6 months.
Surprisingly, I did quite well.

One basket of unwanted clothes.

I have to admit, deciding that you don't want the clothes anymore and throwing it into the basket is very addictive. I've came across some pieces that made me went "what was I thinking?!" wtf

Let me show you!

Threw away this pump that I bought 6 or 7 years ago. It never see the daylight and molding in the corner of my room. Lesson learnt! Never buy the cheap PVC type of pump.

My so 70's dress that I never wore. It was too big for my frame and completely drown me. And the color, let's just not talk about it.

This shapeless dress that I bought long long time ago and had been kept in a corner of my closet since then. Sometimes I really amuse myself, what was I thinking?!

This piece is very nostalgic as I wore this denim skirt when I was 16/17 years old. It still fit me though it is a little tight now. But I can't foresee myself wearing this again at this age. So it has to go.

Wore this once and hated it. Notice the weird waistline? It was because I stitched it from the inside to make it fit me. Obviously, I make a bad seamstress.

So, I'm saying goodbye to these pieces and I'm not even sorry about it. Now, excuse me. I need to continue my online shopping. Bye!

More OOTDs

Compiling another set of my OOTDs taking with my phone for the past 2 months. This OOTD thing can get really addictive like it's a must for me to take my own outfit photo if I made up nicely. Even if I'm running late.

At least this helps me to keep track of what I'd wore and not to repeat the outfit way too often. If I could have it my way, I want to have endless supply of wardrobe just so I can not repeating my clothes. I bet this is every girls dream,

My Fall essentials

Leaves turning color and the crisp breeze blowing sound like a perfect evening to put on your favorite sweater for a casual outing. I wish Malaysia has fall season so that I can dress accordingly. Well, never mind that now because it rains almost every evening now. It is cold enough for me to put on my fall outfits.

I have been on the look out for a grey sweater like this and finally found it from Padini. It is so comfortable and lightweight at the same time. You can get a similar piece here from Forever 21 or H&M. Although it is raining, it is still warm enough for short. I picked the grey acid wash short to go along with my grey theme. Alternatively, if fall is creeping to your country now, you can swap the short with tight and circle skirt or anything that rock your boat. Fashion is supposed to be fun anyway.

Since my outfit is already grey, I opt for quite a standout accessories to play with. Red cuff and stud bracelet go perfect with the casual look. I was gonna put on my gold chain necklace to spice up the look, but I've left it somewhere else.

As for the bag, I chose a structure satchel to compliment the look. It is spacious enough for my wallet, phone, keys and a lip balm. Even better if you have the Cambridge Satchel to go for this casual, on the go look.

Fall season calls for darker hues and what's more perfect than the bloody dark nail color for the season. Also, a dark lipstick is perfect too for the cold autumn feel.

My last essential is the maroon ballerina flat. I'm sticking to dark red palette when it comes to footwear. This ballerina flat is comfortable enough for me to go places and yet durable for the rain. Sorry for the vein-y feet though!

If you are shopping for Fall essentials, do give Raise a look because you can buy discounted gift cards for popular stores like Forever 21, H&M, Pacsun, Sephora and so many more. This can helps you to save money. In case you have extra gift cards that you want to sell, you can sell it here too.

Currently Raise only available at the States (lucky you States people!), but they are looking to expand soon. I hope they reach Malaysia as soon as possible. So do head over to Raise now and start your Fall shopping.

My bags wishlist

This was taken from my Dayre two days ago and edited.
************************************************

That is what I look like for the past few days.

I'm in love.

But not with a person. With a thing.

A bag, to be precise.

Philip Lim 3.1 Mini Pashli Satchel

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what look at first sight looks like.

Since I'm on the topic of bag, I might as well list down my dream bags wishlist. Some more I've spent the whole night googling for info about these bags eg. what leather are these bags are made of, where to buy cheaper (UK or US), what are the seasonal colors etc.

My list is not in chronicle order, I don't mind which one I got first as long as I got it. But frankly, I'm gravitate toward Balenciaga more. So, I'll start with it.

"Balenciaga Giant 12 City"

Is this color shocking you guys? Lol. If I were to invest in a designer handbag, I don't think I will settle for black color, unless if I already have one and shop for a second one. Since Balenciaga is all about color, I'll pick this shocking pink (Rose Thulian). Reason being, it is a perfect everyday bag for work and since I mostly wear black and dull color, this bag for sure will stand out. Even for just 5 minutes walking distance from car park into my office hahaha.

Back track a bit, when I showed the bf the Philip Lim 3.1, he said the color (red) will hard to match with my outfit. I brushed him off and told him that the bag itself is a statement, it doesn't have to match my outfit. And he ignored me. Pfft..

On the contrary, this color got my attention too.

With the gold hardware

Actually I love all of the Balenciaga City colors. Some are bold, some are subtle. It is impossible to just choose one.

See?!

"Celine Nano"

Such a beautiful baby. This cobalt blue is screaming my name. Again, with such designer handbag, the color and the design itself are bold enough for your entire outfit. The size too is perfect for everyday on the go girl.

"Chloe Paraty"

For this one, I'll go with white. Every girl should have at least one white handbag for those tone down days. This is effortlessly chic to match with any outfit.

The bags that I've listed are quite high on my list. Of course there are other bags that I would love to have too. I have my list done, next step is to save my money for it. One step at a time, a bag in a year.

My OOTDs

I knew I'll take lots of OOTDs shots when I bought my new vanity with huge mirror. Scrolling through my phone and found some shots to be shared. I didn't take shot of my outfit everyday because I couldn't be bother and I don't like taking shots of the same outfit la.

This outfit was for Sara's birthday dinner. Top from Topshop and pleated skirt from local boutique.

Random dinner with friends some time ago. Top from Twenty3 and the same skirt from Bugis Street. And yes my desk was in clutter. Everyday.

This was quite recently, after I'm coming back from Bangkok which was one and a half month ago. Pants and bag are from Bangkok, top from my own shop and headband from Sereni & Shentel (matte Mini Ice Ice Baby)

Opss, my desk is in a total mess here. Anyway, focus on the outfit. Top is from ancient time. Hahahaha I had it since long time ago and skort is from Bangkok.

Random background because it was at a fitting room during my casual outing. Nothing outstanding much for the outfit. Top is just random T-shirt and short jeans is from my old jeans that I DIY-ed myself. Creative or not lololol.

Dress from a boutique in Melaka.

I don't remember where I got the top but i think it was from random shop and the pants is from Forever 21 which I seldom wear because it can show camel toe. Go google camel toe if you don't know what it is. Here I link it for you.

A different kind of OOTD shot. Purse is from Zara, top is from random shop, so is my short.

Wedding dinner outfit for my bestie wedding. Dress from online blogshop and same purse from above picture.

Another fitting room shot. Trying a black dress from H&M which I didn't ended up buying because I have too much black dress.

I bought the top from H&M and skirt is from Cotton On. For me, 80% of the time spent in fitting room is to pose and take photo. While the rest is checking out my body for new cellulite hahahaha

Trying out the crop top which turned out to be normal top for me and the pyjama style pant which Xiao S is strongly against me buying.

Grey basic top from FashionValet and white short from Zara which I refrained from buying because spending 200 bucks on a white short that I'll stain is not worth it.

xx.
