Victoria Peak | Hong Kong

Just realized I haven't finish my Hong Kong trip post which I went on last December. I only found out about this when I was going through my photos. The details are quite hazy for me now but I'll just let the photos do the talking.

I remembered that we walked a long way to the Peak Tram Station and my feet quite sore because I was in my ankle boot. That was when I decided that from now on it is always comfort over fashion.

Finally we reached the Peak Tram and the line to buy the ticket was super long

The wax museum is located there too.

But we decided to give the wax museum a miss because errr none of us are interested in it. The line for tram ticket and actually getting on the tram was super long. We waited close to 2 hours and it was super hot in there. Plus some tourists were very rude and kept pushing us.

Forced smile because we were tired and grumpy.

The tram was based on first come first serve, so everyone was pushing each other to get on the tram. Seats are limited but it is a short ride anyway. The fun part is that the tram is going almost 90 degrees upward but the scenery is limited .

It was already dark when we reached The Peak

All of us were freezing cold from the wind blowing and seek shelter inside for a warm dinner. After that we all went to the deck to get the night view of Hong Kong city from the peak. Shivering from the cold when the sudden wind blew, I didn't spent much time there. Plus it was crowded tourist that it was hard to get a decent photo without anyone photobombing us.

I bet it is spectacular too in day time and maybe less crowd. 

I think the perfect timing to be at the Victoria Peak is during sunset. Imagine how magnificent the view is to watch the sun set against the metropolitan city with that height. Too bad we missed that because we're stuck in queue being jostled by tourist from some country. So,if you want to get the best of both world, start queuing at least from 3pm and stay there till 8pm. You can dine, you can shop and even visit the wax museum.

I guess this is the last installment of my Hong Kong post for now. Till we meet again next time HK! In case you're wondering, yes I do planning to go back again some time in the future.

Stanley | Hong Kong

I have zero expectation of Stanley prior visiting because I was not the one doing the itinerary for the trip. Our main purpose for going there is to have lunch at King Ludwig Beerhall for its famous German pork knuckle. 

We took bus from Central which I already forgot what number is the bus. It is certainly not because I am blogging this 4 months after the trip but because my friend was the one doing all the planning for us since he been to Hong Kong before.

The bus station was quite far away from the MTR station. It was a long but enjoyable walk because of the cold breeze. If we were to walk under the hot sun, we sure look like a hot mess when we reached the bus station.

From what I saw, Stanley is like the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Sports cars were everywhere, fancy condominium overlooking the sea, girls trotting Chanel while walking their poodles.

It is a quaint place and definitely a great place to retire if you can afford the condo their. We saw the ad for condo and it was like RM8K per night. Holy moly!

The market that selling little knick knack for tourist. The further we walked to the left side, the greater the view and that's where high end restaurants are located.

The gorgeous backdrop of blue ocean will definitely a perfect wedding photo shoot background.

The place is serene and beautiful indeed but in terms of activity, there are nothing much to do except to immerse yourself in ocean, dining at the restaurant, grab a coffee at Starbucks or do a little shopping at H&M.

I guess Stanley is my friend's favorite place of all because that's where she was proposed to.

Done with lunch and sight seeing, we went back to town and went up the hill to Victory Peak.

Lamma Island | Hong Kong

Lamma Island is part of our itinerary in our Hong Kong trip. We heard it is a popular spot for some Hong Kong dramas but I'm not sure which. 

If you read my food post in Hong Kong,  you will understand the hidden message in the photo above. 

We need to catch ferry to go to Lamma Island. I can't really remember which station we stopped at reach the ferry terminal. But it was a long walk.

Ambushed Jolibee for toilet break and the area was filled with Filipino.

It was a cloudy and windy day. I was shivering in my Heat Tech Uniqlo leggings and it rained some more. FOL.

The ferry terminal was very busy with the locals. I didn't see much tourists maybe because Lamma Island is not very touristy. Besides, most people come to Hongkong for the food and shopping.

After less than 30 minutes of ferry ride, we were here! It was totally different from Hong Kong. Lamma Island is a small town and almost everything comes in mini size. Even the road is narrow.

Putting on my jacket because I was really really cold. I think it was around 14 degrees that time.

Since it is an island, it is filled with seafood restaurant. But we didn't get the chance to try any due to time constraint because we need to catch the ferry back to mainland.

We rarely see any cars there because everyone is so environmental friendly. Their main transport is bicycle. So be prepared to hear the bicycle honk from time to time. 

Stopping for a little snack

Not only Lamma Island is environmental friendly, it is also very pet friendly. I supposed the whole Hong Kong is pet friendly especially to dogs. We spotted lots of dogs going for walk with their owners. So so cute and it made me miss Pino even more.

Been going to the gym a lot, bro? Lol

Luckily I went with my Nike Air Max instead of my boots. I was never a fan of sneaker before but this trip has totally changed me. I'm all for sneakers now for sight-seeing after the horrible feet ache at Disneyland,

And the long hike to the windmill commenced here. All of us have no idea how long it takes to reach the windmill and the road is deserted, We only met less than 10 people along the way.

With the grey sky and surrounded by nature, it felt like we're in the set of horror movie, no kidding guys!

It was scary to stand underneath the windmill because it felt like it will drop any time. Feeling so Final Destination.

Right after we went down and waiting for the ferry to go back to mainland, it was pouring rain. The wind, the rain, the stormy sea, the ride back was a difficult one. I'm so glad that we reached in one piece. If you have extra time at Hong Kong and want to see the other side of Hong Kong besides the hustle in the city, Lamma Island is worth the visit. Just maybe skip the hike to see the windmill because honestly, there is nothing to see there beside the view above.
