Catching up

Normally around this time every year, I will talk about my birthday celebration. But not this year. Because my paternal grandmother passed away 3 days before my birthday and I was away at my kampung with my family for her funeral. And we're still in our mourning process. So I didn't get any celebration done. And that explain my late reply for the birthday wishes especially on Facebook.

Not trying a be a whiny brat but I'm so glad to be back at my own home now. Staying for a week in kampung is literally torturing me. If you've been reading my blog since 2009 (can't you believe I've have this blog for 5 years already?) you would have know that I hate my kampung. a) There's nothing that I can do there, no internet, no Astro. b) I hate kampung food and I always ended up with gastric c) no friends. Everyone around my age are mostly married with kids and I'm not on the same page with them.

It been a week since the passing of my grandma. We start to move on with our daily life. I'm not very close with my grandma once I'm growing up. When I was little, i enjoyed her company very much. She used to tell her grandchildren old folk tales as our bedtime stories. She would bring us with her to go fishing. Though it was pointless because with us around, she never catch anything. We're too loud and would swam there. In fact, she's the one that teach me to swim.
By throwing me into the river and left me flapping my way to the bank. Thanks Grandma. It still feel surreal that she's gone now.
Rest in peace, Inik.
We're going back again this Friday for the ending of the mourning process (ngetas ulit) and lots of my cousins will be there, so I foresee a great bonding weekend with them. Other than that, I'm picking myself up slowly to recover from my grandma passing, catching up with work and disappointment of the bf for forgetting my birthday (!).
But thank God for great friends, I still got lots of wishes and Miao and Sara took me out for an early birthday dinner and gave me great gifts that I absolutely love. And according to the bf, my birthday gift is included in my Christmas gift as well as my Valentine gift. ='=

Gifts from my girl friends

Reunited with my love

He seemed so happy when we picked him up when we're back. Poor little fella must have thought that we abandon him because he's been really clingy afterward. Lol

Fruitful day

If you follow my Dayre, you probably already read this post there. Because today entry is a cheat post ripped off my own Dayre. Dayre makes it so easy for me to write whenever wherever on my mobile but I still treasure my blog, I'm not gonna leave this space not updated.

Start my Saturday quite early because the bf wanted to get his medical check up done. He didn't even give me time to get ready. So I left the house with naked face.

I was so hungry while waiting for him to be done because I didn't had anything at all upon waking up, not even a glass of water. I swear I'm the most difficult person to handle when I'm starving. I was very bitchy and had my sour face on all the way to our brunch place.

But I'm easy to fed. I just need some food in my system and I'll be back to normal. We only had cheese balls, prawn rolls and Fu Zhou fish balls. Spent a long time there just talking with him about everything under the sun. Sometimes, some alone time like this is all we need to realize how much we have grown and how much we've known each other. The wonderful thing with falling in love with your own best friend.

Though it had been a week since I last wrote my things I want to do in 2014, I find myself still keeping it in mind and keep reminding myself that I want to be a better person, inside and outside. So far I have more patience and tolerance on the road with some curse words still leaking here and there. Also, I kinda stop procrastinate a bit and managed to get my heels which have been broken for at least 3 months to the cobbler.

She fixed it in just 1 minute.

Now I don't have to wear the same heels that hurt my sole skin everyday to work.

Chance upon this street that reminds me so much of Phuket in this little alley where the cobbler is located. Suddenly I feel like a foreigner in my own town. These are the little things in life that we take for granted.

Another great achievement so far for me is that I went back to cardio and belly session at Ioga. I feel so good after sweating and refresh despite the sore muscle today.

At Anson for dinner

and we have a little guest joining us

"Ahhh, open your mouth, I feed you"

"What do you mean you don't like my rice?"

"Fine, I'll eat it myself"

I stopped by The Queen to catch Hoe's performance. Turned out Patrick threw him an advance birthday surprise.

Happy birthday in advance!
Actually his birthday is a day before mine.

Hoe's friends from uni also stopped by and we had a little group party there.

What a fruitful Saturday for me and I love it.

Daddy birthday

Happy 47th birthday to the greatest man in my life

We had simple family dinner for my dad birthday. The chances of everybody sitting down together, eating and talking are rather slim these day. It's nice to be able to sit and just talk and enjoy with my family, especially on special day like this.

Ops, Domanic was always looking away from the camera, too shy maybe? Lololol

We have this tradition in my family where everyone feed the birthday fella cake by turn starting from the oldest to the youngest.

Happy birthday daddy!
Geezzzz, smile more ya! Why showed the sour face? Bahahahha

Family little trip

One of the reason I love year end is because of my family gathering. Since my dad birthday fall on the last day of the year which in conjunction with school holidays, we also had family vacation/gathering. Now that I'm working, the tradition kinda wear off because it was hard to get everyone together anymore. However, I always make sure I made time for them.

This year  Last year, my parents opted to go to KL for a week. I only joined them for the weekend since I had no more leave left. It sure was a tiring but fun nonetheless. Travelling with large group or families really tested my patience. And I had lost my patience quite a few times, to be honest.

Someone was being shy lololol

Nando's trying to be funny

I wonder why Nando's always packed with people. It was so loud and crowded, kinda kill the mood to eat. But I was famished and my family wanted to try Nando's, so Nando's it is.

Baby plate

Ah Tung with his meal

Tried on this super comfy sweater at Forever 21 but I ended up not buying it because it was too expensive

Korean food for dinner and that's how I looked after stuck in traffic jam for an hour and got soaked in the rain.

I'm not a big fan of Korean food but Mr. Dakgalbi was delicious. Especially the noodle which I have no idea what it called.

My dad was totally being anti social with his Candy Crush lolol

How I looked in the morning

Me after a whole day of shopping and walking

My aunt bought this salted caramel popcorn and it is the bombdiggity. I almost finished the whole packet in just 5 minutes. I just sat there and eat, no movies no book. Lololol I sound like a glutton.

This time around I bought quite a lots of clothes and makeup which I promised myself will not buy because I already hoard way too much makeup stuffs. But the Benefits Cosmetic came out with really cute travelling set and I just couldn't resist it. So I told myself, it's okay because it was Christmas, it is sort of Christmas gift for myself. Hahahha I sound so pity. The miniature make up are so cute and I feel so sayang to use it, I keep it in my makeup pouch and it still remain untouched till today. Haih, now I regret buying it.

Almost 12 am already, I wanna sleep now because I'll be grumpy without enough hours of sleep. Good night!

Things I want to do in 2014

So, it's been 5 days into 2014 and I had been meaning to write this post few days ago but I want to carefully plan things that I want to do in 2014. I don't want it to be some sort of same old resolutions which I forgot few days later. This time I'm wanna take baby steps in executing my plan and my list only contains things that doable for me. Small stuffs that I've been meaning to do but procrastinate till I forgot.

Here goes my list:

1) With that being said, first thing that I want to do in 2014 is to stop procrastinate. I have lots of ideas and things that going on in my mind but I never jot it down or I'd tell myself that I'll do it later. In the end, none of my plans ever got executed simply because I already forgot about it.

2) I want to be more patience especially on the road. Everyone whom know me personally know that I'm a bitchy person on the road. I cursed and drove aggressively when I encountered moron drivers. Now I want to get rid of this habit slowly though because being mad on the road is not good for my blood pressure and I just don't want to curse anymore.

This photo serves no purpore, I'm just vain

Okay, back to my list.
3) I have zero cooking skills and the bf and my family know this well. So I thought it's time for me to start surfing recipe online and practicing my cooking skill. This is not something that I can master in just few days, but I'll start with something simple maybe.

4) I want to blog more. It's a constant struggle to find time to write a proper blog post these day but I want to keep this space alive with my memories. If you're interested, I write almost everyday in my Dayre, mostly my nonsense rants.

5) I want to eat healthy. Maybe start with green juice and more vegetables and fruits in my diet. I know this is going to be the hardest challenge ever for me but I need to keep my body clean for my own sake. Oh yeah, I need to exercise also. (Sorry, this one is my never accomplish resolution every year).

6) I wanna spend more time with my loved ones, especially Pino. I feel like I had been neglected him a lot. I rarely take him out for walk anymore and he's kinda distance himself from me too after the incident where he bit me last year.

So far, those are the things that I want to do in 2014. Of course, save more money, travel more and bla bla bla still on my list but I feel like that's my resolution every year for the past 2 years. So no need to write down already.

I'm really excited for what '14 has in store for me. Hopefully, it's a great year for everyone.

Hello 2014

My first post ever for 2014. I was lucky that I got to spent my New Year Eve with loved ones.I had lovely birthday dinner with my family because my dad is a NYE baby. Afterward, I joined my friends at Extra Time for countdown with the bf.

Happy birthday dadyy

My NYE pack

I don't want to sound cliche because seriously "time flies" phrase is so overrated but the saying is true. 2013 now is a thing of the past and I still have so much to blog about but I'm seriously lacking in updating this particular space because I feel like I need to live in the moment. I document my life here so that I can always look back at my online diary in the future. But that doesn't mean that my life is revolved around my blog. I did a lot of other things that I chose not to blog about. And sometimes, I just want to be in the moment, rather than busy snapping away photos and thinking it will be great for the blog later. I guess I've grown up.

In 2013, I've said that I wanted to save more money and travel more. I did better in the latter and I really enjoyed travelling to new places and explored new surrounding with the bf. Not only that, we managed to travel with both of  our family too.. As for my financial status, I'm still working on it. But this time I'm working toward a more concrete goal. So, in a nutshell, I kinda ticked off my 2013 resolution #1 & #2.

I admit that I failed my 2013 resolution #3. I stopped going for yoga and tried to go to gym but failed. But in term of delaying aging wtf, I'm doing good. I have found what work best for my skin and what's not. 2013 resolution #4 is semi failed. I tried to set up an online business but I didn't put as much effort as I should and therefore I deserve the failure on this one. This year maybe, I will plan out carefully and relaunch my business.

Well, 2013 resolution #5 was a bit bizarre but a girl can always dream. 2013 was not a good year for me in term of achieving my own personal goals as I get sidetrack but it's the year that I finally grown to accept myself for who I am and learn to let go of my own insecurities. Career wise, I'm getting stable and happy in my job but I always open for change. Overall, I finally really stepping into adulthood in 2013 where I learnt bills need to be paid, food need to be prepared and laundry need to be washed, all on my own. In short, I've learnt to be responsible.

I have great hope for 2014 to be a better year and I'll list down my resolution soon after I'm done setting up my goals for the year. A great start for me as I managed to tick off one of  my 2014 goals which is to bring my parents for a holiday. I already booked our tickets last month and can't wait to plan the rest of the holiday.

Cheers to 2014, a new beginning to an amazing journey!
