Finally, Universal Studio Singapore

As promised, my Universal Studio Singapore adventure story. My #ootd for the day was a simple circle skirt from Bugis Street (my best purchase from this trip), bird print peplum top which I tucked in is from Brand Outlet, sandal from Vincci.

We learnt from our Day 2 mistake and woke up earlier to avoid the crowd at Immigration but it was Saturday and we stuck at jam on the connecting bridge to Woodland. We met up with a friend from Singapore and he brought us around. It was much easier because he know the way around and we didn't need to go to tourist pick up point. We took the MRT directly to Vivo City instead.

I kinda miss my fair skin T_T I'm quite tan after my Phuket trip now
But the bf is even more tanner than me hahahhaha

With Oscar the Grouch, we queued for this because the line was not too long

A quick lunch before we hit the rides

During my last visit, I didn't get to go on any extreme rides and this time I determined to go on all the rides at least once. Good thing the bf is as adventurous as me. We started off with Transformer 3D Ride and personally it's my favorite rides among all. Next we moved on to Battlestar Galactica Human vs Cylon (the red one). The Red Ride was exciting and really crazy but the Blue Ride the craziest of all for me. Having your feet dangling on the air and going through the helix loop, overturned 360 degree really got me. I closed my eyes for the whole Blue Ride. But it really got my adrenaline up. I heard that the Battlestar Galactica Human vs Cylon is closed since July for some technical review. So glad that I did not back out during the line and tried the ride at least once. By the way, I went in June. Hehehehe this post is really back dated.

Next ride, Revenge of The Mummy Ride. The waiting line for this one every rides were crazy. We lined up for almost an hour in average for ride. My advice if you're planning to go to USS, better buy the express ticket. It really will save lotsss of your time. Because the waiting line was too long, we missed Madagascar Splash Ride but I did went on the ride last year.

In the Land Far Far Away

Sorry for the stick figure pose. I always feel awkward when asked to pose alone for picture

This time I managed to catch the Hollywood Parade. No photos because I was busy smiling and waving to the characters. I said this before but I'm going to say it again, USS is really a happy place. The staffs and performers are friendly, the place is beautiful and it will make you smile all the time (check out my photos, it is all wide grin with exposed teeth) and squint too because of the scorching sun.

I think one day is not enough to explore USS, I went twice to completely explore the place and rides and still I miss the firework because we need to go back early to avoid Immigration crowds but failed. At this point, I'm quite used to the queue and crowd.

I think I really have a thing for theme park because it makes me so happy. Disneyland will be next on my list *finger cross next year maybe*

JB : Johor Premium Outlet & Singapore ( Bugis Street)

Continuation of my travel tale to down South from last post. The only time that I had to explore Johor was on the night that we reached. We stayed at Citrus Hotel which located right next to City Square Mall and 10 minutes walk to the Immigration checkpoint to Singapore. Perfect location and cozy room, I will definitely stay there again if I ever go to Johor in the future.

We reached Johor in the afternoon and had to take the bus from Larkin to JB Sentral. Both of us lugging our luggage the whole day, it was quite tiring and lucky our hotel was easy to find. Cleaned up and helped ourselves to late lunch, we wanted to take the bus to Johor Premium Outlet afterward. Buttttt we missed the bus by few minutes. And the next bus was on 5.30pm or 6pm, we had plenty of time kill so we explored City Square mall. The whole journey to JPO took about an hour and a half I think, both of us dozed off on the bus.

I read lots of reviews about shopping experience at JPO prior to this trip, lots of it were not pleasant one though. So I kinda lower my expectation but apparently I lowered mine too much because that's where I bought the most basic apparels. The discount wasn't much and the choices are quite limited but surely there were some gems hidden somewhere, so you gotta dig around.

Day 2
Our plan for the day was to go to USS but we stopped for brunch at Taiwan Restaurant for brunch and got carried away. When we reached the ICQ, it was packed with people. We really shouldn't stopped for brunch because by the time we reach Orchard Road for the USS pick up point, we already missed the bus and the next one was at 3.30pm which was quite late.

Me with bf nerd glass during brunch

I was so glad that the bf insisted on cancelling the USS plan for the day because we won't even have time to enjoy anything if we did go. So, we spent the day roamed around Singapore, eating ice cream sandwich at Orchard Road, shopped a little at H&M, getting disappointed in Aldo because they ran out of my size for a sandal that I really keen on (I even hunt down the same sandal two weeks after that at Fahrenheit 88 and KLCC, all were out of my size!!!), went to Bugis Street where I bought a Topshop quality circle skirt for only SGD5 and crammed with Singaporean during peak hour at the MRT, stuck at a super duper long queue at Singapore Custom and illegally ride Bus Pekerja to get back to JB.

Tired but happy face

I walked so much that my feet were aching like crazy. We both passed out after reaching hotel to prepare for USS the next day. This post is getting lengthy, I shall stop here. USS entry will be up next, I promise!

Melaka & JB trip

Finally I just finished selecting and editing some pictures from my trip to Melaka and JB last month. There are so many pictures that I had to go through. Clicking through each of the pictures make me miss going away again. But I shall work and save money harder now so that I can go for another holiday again, preferably somewhere out of the country.

Selca of me to start the post

I met the bf at KL since he accompanied his parents for a convention there. The haze that time pretty bad. Right after I stepped out of my plane, my nose was greeted with heavy smoke and I couldn't see far. I really really regretted not buying mask at Sibu because masks were sold out every where there. But at KL street, there are people selling mask for RM2 per piece. It was ridiculous really.

Shopping break

We didn't get to do much during first few days because haze was still pretty bad. Went back to Melaka the next day and I tried the coconut milkshake that the bf raved about all the time. It was really good that I ended up having it two days in a row. The one that we went to was at Batu Berendam which is near to where the bf lived. I heard the popular one is at Klebang but I don't know the exact location. I did went to Klebang Beach but the stall that sell coconut milkshake was closed. Not sure if that's the stall that everyone's talking about.

At the Ruins of St. Paul Church

I wore my brand new flat and it hurt so bad. Plus the bf parked quite far when we went to the Ruins of St Paul church and we climbed a lot of stairs too, up and down the hill because we went to the wrong way and ended up at a dead end.

Camwhore with the trishaw

Christ Church Malacca

Sunset at Jonker

We took a lot of pictures around Jonker and Stadthuys but most of it turned out to be quite unflattering (read: sweaty and blurry pictures). The bf practically asked me to pose with whatever that we came across. The windmill near the Red Building, the leftover cannon, the bridge, the roundabout to Jonker, I had it all. Sadly, I looked like I just ran a marathon with sweat drenching down my top, smeared eyeliner and damned forehead.

The haze was slowly getting better and the sky was clearer when we were in Malacca but we stayed indoor mostly because it was too humid outside. We went to movies two days in a row, roaming around shopping malls and eating and eating and eating. I felt like I was eating the whole time when I was there.

Had my first try at Nadeja Mille Crepe but I think I prefer the one from Noodle House (Sibu)

Had satay celup and it was surprising very satisfying. Great but a messy experience.

Then the bf was very excited to bring me to eat lala and kerang by the longkang. Like seriously a real longkang, we sat on old school stools and wooden table at the backstreet enjoying cockles and clams fresh from the boiling pot. Served with only chili in soy sauce, it was really good. Lucky us didn't queue for the seats but the people after us had to queue since the crowd keep growing.

It was featured in 8TV show "Ho Chak" too because I saw the newspaper clipping about that there

This uncle preparing roasted bean curd

After 3 days of stuffing ourselves with good food in Malacca, we packed our stuffs and moving down south. My major plan for Johor is only Johor Premium Outlet since our time was limited because we wanted to explore Singapore.

My comfy ootd for travelling

Will continue about my Universal Studio Singapore trip soon.
But you can read about my adventure at USS last year here.

Singapore part 3 : Sentosa

Outfit of the day for day 3

We went again to Sentosa the next day because we haven't explore the beach and other adventure rides there. This time around, we bought all of the rides ticket beforehand and we went to every one of them except the go-kart because I think it was too hot.

Because we were so eager to go on all the rides before the dolphin show at Underwater world, we skipped breakfast and lunch altogether. In the end, I escaped to Starbucks to get some drink and mixed fruits to fill the stomach.

My brunch

After all the extreme 4D rides, I was so hungry that when we visit the Aquarium at the Underworld, all that I could think about were how great those fish and crabs taste would be if they were my lunch. My mind was filled with images and taste of seafood. So sorry guys.

Bought nuggets and fries for the dolphin show because fruits was not enough

I love the fur seal. Her name is Brenda

I got a little bit pissed with the tourists from India. They were so rude and selfish but yet so kind to their own people. There was once I was lining up at the counter to pay for my drink  Suddenly there's black figure cutting my line and totally blocked me. Fuck. He was a middle age man and twice my size. Can't he just waited for his turn? He's right after me at the line.

Then at the dolphin show, they kept squeezing to our spaces. When the show needed volunteer for game, some of them were waving frantically, some even stood up and walked to the emcee without being called. My God, these people.

Done with the show, we strolled to the beach area. The weather was great and perfect.

We stopped at an Italian cafe, Trapizza by the beach for early dinner.

Full and happy after dinner, we took a taxi to Vivo city for some shopping before went back to our apartment.

End this post with an ugly picture of me during the Sky Ride

Singapore Part 2- Universal Studio Singapore

Finally, I'm blogging about the perk of my visit to Singapore two months back, Universal Studio Singapore. I went there on my second day and spent the entire day exploring this whole new world. Personally for me, USS is such a happy and dreamlike place, but I bet Disneyland would be better. Oh never mind that since I've never been to Disneyland before.

Let's me warn you, this post is picture heavy. It is probably the longest post with the most pictures that I have ever post. Enjoy! :)

A compulsory picture at the entrance.
Had to retake so many shoots to get a decent one because it was either someone was photo-bombing me or I couldn't get the word on the giant globe in view properly.

We arrived quite early that day and the place was already jam packed with visitors, most probably because it was weekend. Once we stepped our feet inside USS, we were greeted by these beautiful buildings. I felt like I was somewhere in a western country because the architecture is so beautiful and colourful.

The staffs and the performers at USS were super friendly even though it was a blazing hot day. They still managed to smile and joke with us. Being at such a beautiful place already made me so happy, being treated that way made me even more happier.

See how happy I was there

There are so many cafes and bakery available but I didn't stepped in any as I was on a budget. Got to spend wise with the limited cash that I had with me. Those cash were better used for shopping :)

After exploring Hollywood, we moved on to the sci-fi land which I didn't remember the proper name. The only memory left of the sci-fi land is the Transformer because I saw Bumblebee almost everywhere. I didn't get on any of the rides here because the queue and the waiting time was too long. Some more I was the only one whom eager to go for extreme rides. It's not fun to shout alone, much better if I have someone to shout with or someone to bear my shouting at their ears hehehe

My favourite car

Holding baby Kelly for posing purpose only hahaha

Next we moved on to Jurassic Park and I finally could get on some rides. I was on Canopy Flyer, Jurassic Park Rapid Adventure and one more that I forgot the name already. It was nothing challenging but quite fun and children friendly.

We had our lunch at this Jurassic themed food court which I guess is the only food court available here.

My lunch which suck big time. Maybe because I was having flu that day, everything taste quite bland and meh for me.

Done filling our stomach, we moved on to Egypt. I did nothing much there because it was getting too hot and the crowd was growing. Couldn't even try on any rides there. So I was just walking around and taking pictures with some characters that I met.

Err, don't know his name. Maybe Flint or something, but he reminded me of the lead in Tangled.

Done with Egypt we moved onto my favourite place ever, the land far far away. Seriously, I love the castle here. And I love Shrek too. Sure enough I felt so happy at far far away. Just looking at the architecture here was enough to put a smile on my face.

If only I can live in a castle like this as a princess.
I enlarged this picture bigger than the rest because this is my favourite.

Lining up to catch the 4D show about Shrek rescuing Fiona. Damn nice the show.

Photo taking is actually not allow in the theatre

After the 4D show, we rushed to the water park to catch the waterworld show.

We were late, so we missed quite a bit of actions. The waterworld show was amazing with all the props and explosives as well as actions but it was a bit too short though.
Outfit of the day

I love them

One more enlarged picture with me at my favourite place

By the time we done with everything, it was already around 5 pm. We stopped by the souvenir store as my aunt want to buy something back which turned out that she bought almost everything that she touched. ='=

Didn't bought this rock candy in the end because I was too stingy.

Writing about USS really make me miss vacation. I would love to go back there again soon. Boyfriend, do take note of this please. Hehehehe
