24th Birthday

So, my birthday was last month and I have been really taking my sweet time to blog about it. Maybe it's the age thing, I was not feeling as excited as I was during birthday when I was younger. Aging sucks, you know but it's a good thing too. Haven't you heard the more birthday you have, the longer you live? (Sorry I'm so lame :p)

Duck faced.

My date for the night, the bf.

This is the first time I've put up the bf's picture in my blog. My blog is always been something that so close to my heart, a place where I let everything out, it's something personal for me. It's something that I would look back when I was older and reread what the younger me had done. Since my blog is public too, I've always been careful with what I posted here. Therefore, I chose to wait awhile to make him go public in here.

What I thought to be a normal dinner with some friends at Tanahmas turned out to be a surprise one, planned by both of my dearest friends, Xiao S and Miao. Both of them were acting nonchalantly whole day that day. Xiao S coldly wished me Happy Birthday through Whatsapps and Miao didn't even wished me at all. I should have known they had something up on their sleeves.

Meet the culprits:
Xiao S

Miao

Finally took my Union Jack clutch that I got in Bangkok out for that night

After our meals, we excused ourselves from the guys to the ladies room to do what we're best at:
Camwhoring

Outfits of the day:

We really made full use of all the mirrors in the washroom

Girls, thank you for making my birthday such a happy and great one.
Real friends are hard to come by these day.

Thank you too babe. For making sure I have all the persons that I care and love to celebrate my birthday with me.

Instax mini from the bf as my gift <3 p="">

2013 resolutions

So, it's time for me to put up my 2013 resolutions here. This is not exactly a resolution for me, it's more like the goals that I want to achieve this year. Last year, my resolution is simple. to save more money and to travel more. I won't say I'm doing good for both of it but I think I was not doing bad either. I've traveled to Singapore for a short weekend in June (you can check it out on the right side bar labelled Singapore) and Bangkok in December (which I haven't finish blog about yet).

And for this year, I want to travel more. I really really love going to a new place and discover new culture, trying new food and of course, having some self discovery during journey like this. With that said, I've already planned my vacations for first half of 2013. I'm so excited for this :)

My other resolutions/goals are going to be simple and hopefully I can stick by it as good as I can.

1. To travel more as I wrote up there.
2. To be financially secured which means save more and no more dragging my credit card payment and start paying my student loan.
3. To love myself more. I kinda aware that I'm getting older so my skin and health condition may not be as tip top as it was before. Therefore, this is the year that I'm going to be health conscious and delay my aging wtf.
4. To start my own side earning.
5. To move somewhere out of the country. This sound bizarre but I have always wanted to live in other countries, so finger cross for this. Bf, please make this happen for me <3 p="p">

I hope by writing these goals in this space will help to remind me what I want to achieve this year and tick everything off by the end of 2013, you know kinda like the secret of The Secret.

Cheers to the fresh new start!

Being domestic

I never see myself as a domestic person. I mean, I clean my own room and make my own meals if I have to, but that's the extent of my domestic side. I can't cook without instant pack and I don't do house chores. But when the parents were out of town for new year, I was forced to show my domestic side.

Having a full off day one the new year itself, I woke up as usual around noon. Maybe it's the new year thing, I had a sudden urge to clean the house and cook lunch for myself. Armed with instant green curry paste that I bought from Bangkok, I tried to reliving the foodgasm that I've experienced in Bangkok. As expected, failed. My curry turned out to be too salty and way to spicy. Obviously, adding chili and capsicum was not a great idea to a readily made curry paste.

And then I swept and mopped the floor, did the laundry, checked the dishes to make sure they were all cleaned, wiped the counter top. Watched Gilmore Girls for 2 episodes before I decided to change my bed sheet. Having done all that, I sat in living room and decided to give my dog a bath. Before I knew it, it was almost 6 pm. Time for dinner. I had some leftover fish fillet and decided to make fish and chips. This one however was a great success. Who would knew adding beer to my batter would make my fish so good. Thanks Youtube!

Somehow I felt calm and collected after doing all the chores. It came across me that doing house chores is one of my new way to de-stress. I love the outcome, the feeling of walking on a clean marbled floor, seeing everything is where it should be, nice and neat. Maybe it's because I was having the house all to myself, or maybe it's just me. The new me, the obsessive compulsive me.

Happy new year 2013, everyone. Let's see how long we can keep our new year resolutions.

Christmas 2012

Okay, a little break from my Bangkok trip, let's talk about my Christmas!

Like every Christmas in the past years, we would go on a family trip somewhere. Last year we went to Sabah but this year, I couldn't off from work, so we settled for something nearer, Kuching instead. I was reluctant at first as I just got back from Bangkok earlier this month and I was looking forward to just chillaxing at home for the long weekend. I couldn't believe that I almost said no to my favorite city.

December has always been my favorite month because of the festive season. The spirit of Christmas makes me happy all the time and I think December is my lucky month too. Last year I won a Christmas wishlist from Joyce and this year I'm one of the winner for Bobo Modbox giveaway. So Christmas came early this year for me. :)

I love how thoughtful the Modbox crew are

I have yet to try anything from my box because the packaging is so lovely and smell really good

********************************************************************************
My Christmas in Kuching this year is simple and relaxing. I spent my time with my family and I'm happy that Merdeka Plaza is open now, means more shopping option. I knew during the short weekend in Kuching, I won't be able to meet up with my Kuching bunch, so I came unannounced.

I think I just woke up from nap here

That Elle bag is my current favorite bag

Tried heilo but disappointing. Tutti frutti taste better

Fake snow in The Spring, feeling very Christmas-sy right?

At night, we would curled up in front of TV and watched Victoria's Secret fashion show

OOTD for Christmas eve
Top - Bangkok
Skirt - Forever 21
Bag - Elle
Sandal - Far east plaza, Singapore

Christmast gift from the bf, a Vivienne Westwood Inspired dress from Twenty3

Bangkok again - Part 3 (Awacha)

You guys know how bubble milk tea has taken a storm in Asia, right?
It has taken Bangkok too! Everywhere I went, there's always a bubble milk tea shop somewhere around the corner.

And of course on the day we had no idea where to go, we would hanging out at Sara's bubble milk tea shop. She owns one of the franchise for Awacha which is one of the famous bubble milk tea here.

My face looked dull here because I forgot to put on make up.
I swear I woke up on auto pilot mode, I had no idea why on earth was I forgot to do any makeup.

Maxim coffee is Miao's favorite

I was having cocoa

While Sara's busy shaking like this

We were busy playing around.

Look at my hair there, almost reach my butt.
I had it trimmed shorter and layered last week.

With the lady boss

That's all for now.
Krap phun ka for reading

A little late for this but anyway,
Merry Christmas and happy new year 2013 guys!
We survived the world end!

Food Porn - Bangkok Part 1

It's true when they said Bangkok has really nice food. Every meals that I've had there did not disappoint me at all. If it weren't for the fact that I walked everywhere from morning to night, I think I would have gained some weight.

I will try my best to jot down the name of the delicacies here but some I already forgot.
What remained in my mind is the taste of it.
Enjoy!

At Chatuchak Weekend Market

Quail Eggs

Fried Chicken (Obviously, LOL) with nice chili dip

Som Tam, sour and spicy, such a great combination.

Sara's busy with her phone

Meanwhile I'm enjoying my food

So is Miao

Tired after walking around Chatuchak

I think we purposely went into the shop because it was air-conditioned.
Didn't buy anything there though, just went in and pretending trying on their shoes wtf

At Central Plaza, Lardprao

Waiting for our number

To eat at this popular dessert cafe, After You Dessert Cafe

I think we waited around 30 mins to get a table for three. Quite like their queue system with number because nobody can fight your table with you.
Anson Cafe in Sibu, please learn this!

Matcha Mille Crepe
Super yummy and surprising not too sweet either because I kinda hate sweet dessert tho

But this girl hate cake

Their signature toast, Shibuya honey toast
Amazing! It was crispy on the outside but soft and buttery in the inside.
But after a few bites of this, I kinda get sick of it.

At Waterside

My dinner date everynight

Squid with salty egg
OMG, this dish is the bomb.
I love love love (repeated love 3 times because I really love it) the rich taste of the salty egg.

Prawn ball, just okay though

Pardon the orange color on the left side of most of my pictures from that night.
It was my phone case and somehow blocking my camera lens.
Didn't bother to remove the case when taking this picture because we were all hungry.

Pork, BBQ-ed i think

Another one of my favorite dish from Waterside.

We love Waterside so much that we went back there to dine twice that week.
Delicious dish, prompt service, friendly waitress, great ambiance.
This can easily be my favorite restaurant if I live in Bangkok.

That's all for tonight.

Bangkok Day 1

I kick started my December with my long awaited trip to Bangkok with bestie, Miao. That's why I've been missing for awhile from this space. I was really excited for this trip but a bit worry that I might miss this trip because a week before that my grandma was admitted to hospital and was in critical condition. But she is all good and been discharged now.

Our #ootd for our flight

A very unglamorous picture of me eating my bun in a bus on the way to KL

Our flight from Sibu to KL was in the morning and we reached LCCT at noon and our flight to Bangkok was at 7pm I think. We had a few hours to spare so we figured we could go down to KL to do a quick shopping. Our main objective was actually to get a bikini because none of us were bringing any for our Pattaya trip.

Let me tell you, it was the most rushing and tiring shopping that I've ever done in my life. I don't know why we even thought that we could pull it off and risking our chances of missing our flight just because of bikinis. Girls and shopping, unexplainable.

Trip to and fro LCCT and KL Sentral alone would took 2 hours, which means we barely had an hour to properly shop. Plus, it was raining and made the traffic even worst. So, we practically ran all the way from KL Sentral to Monorail Station because we wanted to go to Cotton On and H&M in Starhill.

We reached Cotton On in Sg. Wang disappointed because their selection of bikinis were limited and mostly already sold out. So we went to the Cotton On in Pavilion. Wide range of selection BUT mostly out of size XS for me. WTF! In the end, I just randomly picked a polka dot bikini top which fits me the most. I didn't even bother to buy a bikini bottom at all. When I think about it, it made no sense why would I went rushing all the way and came back with only a bikini top?

We were beyond tired after all the running and cramping in the monorail with others and slept all the way in the bus. Couldn't help but felt relieved and blessed because we made it back to LCCT in time and all the while we were outdoor running and rushing, rain magically stopped. But resumed as soon as we got into our monorail and bus.

Ready to take off but flight delayed. Typical AirAsia.

By the time we reach Don Mueng Airport, I felt a bit sick because I realized I've only eaten a bun for the whole day. But the feeling was gone soon after because Sara brought us back to her place and got our dinner. First authentic Thai meal and it was so good but I didn't eat much because I was too worn out. But that's not the end of our night. We went clubbing right after that. Aren't we hardcore? Hehehe

At Lizm Club

One great things about club in Bangkok is it is smoke-free and live band are playing. It felt more like concert/party and Thai people are very friendly. Heard a lot of Thai hit songs that night and I like it, I like the spirit of the local supporting their own song, singing and dancing along with the band. And Thai people can drink a lot, I tell you. It was also my first time clubbing without sipping any alcohol. #newachievement unlock.

This sums up my first night at Bangkok. Will resume with more pictures soon.
