1st year

This post was written on 26 July and I forgot to post it up.

________________________________________________________________________

Yesterday marked exactly one year that I’ve been stepping into the real world and started working. In this one year span, I’ve jumped field once. Leaving behind my banker job and stepped into a new but relatively related field.

What have I learnt in this one year? Well, the obvious would be how satisfying it is to be financially independent, though sometimes it can be quite tough as well. No more financial support from my dad would means I have to plan my budget carefully (truth is, I failed every months, ops!)

I would say I’m quite lucky to land myself a job even before my graduation. Many claimed that everything came easy to me because I’m a girl. Pftttttt… discrimination! Don’t they know that you have to work hard for something if you want it? Same principle applied when looking and landing a job. But frankly speaking, being a girl does have it own advantages (and disadvantages too).

Being a fresh graduate with zero background in my field, I have way too many things to learn. Even using the photocopy machine for the first time was a challenge. Phew, now gone were those days. Lucky for me, I have a good support system at my work place.
Everyone was so helpful in the beginning and I slowly picking things up from here and there. Meeting way too many new people (which sometimes I couldn’t recall their names)
from various background expands my acquaintances horizon too. I love listening to their story about how they started working during their young age. It fascinating to know others stories and what had they been through to be at where they are now.

Even after a year of working and at the age of 23, it’s sad to say that I’m not sure what I exactly want in my career. All I know now is I want to earn more and more money. Yes, I’m that money-driven but who doesn’t anyway? It’s a realistic world that we live in after all. Now that I’m getting used to my job, I quite love what I do. The familiarity of my routine has become my comfort zone now. Soon my job scope will be widen and again I have to start picking things up at faster rate. Beginner excuse can’t be used anymore. As much as the idea of confirmation terrifies me, I’m quite eager to take on more things on my plate. Torn much, eh?

I hope it’s okay to still not be sure where I’m going career wise at this age.

P/S: Singapore trip update will be up soon. J

Back from the lion city

A picture of me to start the post. So, I was back from my short trip to Singapore and went back to work today. It's funny how my last post was titled "Holiday's over" and yet here I am writing about my another holiday hehehe.

A little sneak peak of the places I went to during my 4 days 3 nights stay there.

I had so much fun there and wish that I could stay a bit longer to explore the whole city. Will blog properly after I'm done sorting the pictures. Stay tuned. :)

Lazy Bee

I have been really really lazy lately. I guess it must be the holiday withdrawal syndrome. All I do now are work, eat a bit (it must be a bit only cause I lost another 1kg again, sigh) and sleep. Can you believe it? I've just spend my half of my Sunday awake and stay in pajama all day. Took a shower at night and changed into another pajama again. True story.

The only productive thing I've done today is cleaning my room. And it only because I haven't unpack my luggage from my kampung trip and I need to pack again for my short holiday this coming Friday. Yup, another holiday is coming soon for me and I'm super excited.

I'll be heading to Singapore this Friday. It is a partial solo holiday because I'll meet my aunt there. I can't wait to explore Orchard road and Bugis street and of course the Universal Studio. I'll try to tone down on my shopping spending but I doubt that I can stick to my budget. Budget and me doesn't always goes well together #financialplanningfail

For the past week, I had been staying in almost every nights. It makes me wonder where has the social me had gone? I have zero social life now because I was too lazy to get out. Maybe because I was really tired. I napped soon after I reach home and only wake up for dinner and pakto a bit then off to sleep again. I tried to pick up reading habit again but as expected, nothing can keep my attention for 5 minutes. Few pages later, I closed the book and let it collecting dust on my bedside table.

I'm so motivated to do just nothing.

Truth is, I have so many things on my to-do-list but my oh my, laziness got in the way of everything. Darn it! I should tick off those things one by one before all the lovelies coming back because I foresee the awakening of my zero social life wtf.

Holiday's over

Because I was bored staying at kampung for almost a week, I decided to get back home way earlier than my family. My lil sister and brother joined me as well. I guess I'm not the only city girl in the family. I do love country side and nature, but my kampung somewhat does not resembles any of it. I guess the getting bored in kampung syndrome is normal because I feel the same almost every year

But I feel like a bad daughter for leaving my parents.

Anyway, I went to Pizza Hut again yesterday because I was super miss their lasagna and creamy carbonara. But their portion this time really disappoint me.

I feel cheated

Got myself a new flat which surprisingly come in my size.

So there goes my 10 days off work. Will be back to work tomorrow and need to adjust back to normal waking hours which no doubt will be a pain for me. But never mind because in less than 10 days, I will off to  Singapore for a short getaway. All by myself.

Polka Dots

Hello June! The month that I've been anticipating for. Bff Miao and Xiao S are coming back and the bf is coming back too. Double yeah! And the boys too! I'm so excited and kinda scare as well because I don't want to jinx all the great things that going to happen.

I went shopping last week and bought some stuff, only to realize they are mostly polka dots. I think I'm having a polka dot phase now. Went through my wardrobe found quite a lot of polka dot tops and dress.

Last week purchase. Polka dot top and shorts.

Dress from Bangkok, belated birthday gift from Sara.

Another dress from a random shop

Wore it last month in Kuching

Dress again from the same random shop

McFlurry date with Xiao S

My birthday dress from my bro which I have yet to wear

Another dress which was gifted by Xiao S few years ago, sadly I can't fit in it anymore

Dress for my sis engagement which I never wore again afterward, I also don't know why.

Top for my work which I bought from a blogshop. Love it!

Cotton On dotted blouse

That's a lot of polka dots in one post, isn't it? Bet you just spend 3 minutes in your life looking at the most polka dots post ever and did you get a bit dizzy? Cause I do after staring too long at the dots. FML.

Ending the post with my polka dot travelling bag.

Happy June everyone!

The So Called Holiday

Remember how excited I was to take 10 days off work and doing nothing? Well, now that I'm on my fourth day and currently at my kampung, I feel very bored. Bored because there's absolutely nothing to do. No channels to watch because no Astro, no place to go because no proper transport, plus no place to go also. Can't properly surfing the internet or watch Youtube because I have to survive on the weak connection of my broadband.

Basically, I feel like I'm being home jailed.

Yesterday I tried to watch Inception. Tried because I didn't finish it, my laptop volume too low, already turned it to the max and I still couldn't properly hear a single thing. And the movie quite boring also or it is because I didn't pay attention at all.

Then, I rummaged my laptop and rediscovered my e-books which I got from my friends before I graduated. Read 4 pages and I stopped. Lost my interest because the book was targeted for teenagers and I'm old already.

I tried taking nap also. Felt like I had been napping for an hour but when I woke up, I realized I just napped for 15 minutes. At this point of my life, I don't mind going back to work. At least I got something to do.

The main reason I feel this way is because I resent this place. There's nothing that I can do here. I hate the people here. Too hypocrite. Never mind, 4 more days to go and I'll be back to the city.

Can't upload pictures because the line is too noob. Sigh.

I can't live without internet.

Updated! Finally can upload pictures after trying for whole afternoon and re-sizing the pictures.

Instead of taking the public express boat, we rented a speedboat for only us to go back to kampung this time. Less hassle and faster.

Our stuff filled the boat. It was really a small boat with only 6 seats including the driver.

Bye bye Sibu, bye bye streamxy, bye bye comfort bed, bye bye fast food, see you guys after one week wtf.

Me sitting rather "comfortably". As you can see, the seat is made up of an old car seat and the head rest is leaning forward which I hate so much because I couldn't place my head properly there. If I did, I will end up in a very awkward position which my head will constantly facing down.

There you go, face of the girl who whine.

Being Happy

I had been feeling very happy lately, especially early in the morning. I woke up with a super happy mood even with only 4 hours plus of sleep. Miracle! Because I'm never a morning person. I don't know why but I feel super grateful with what I have in my life right now. For once, I'm happy and contented.

I'm happy that I'm still be able to wake up and start a fresh new day.

I'm happy that my hair and make up is perfect when I go to work.

I’m happy that May almost coming to its end. Hello paycheck, hello holiday!

I’m happy that today is my last day working before enjoying my 10 days off work. Awesome!

I’m happy that the bf never fails to crack me up.

I’m happy that I’m going for a trip soon. New place new adventure, all by myself.

Maybe I’m just grateful for everything just because. My whine and rants are sometimes so unnecessary. Those are just some petty issues in my life and don’t even affect me as a whole. Others have more serious issue going on in their life like health problem, family matter or career issue. And mine are just peanut if compared to theirs.

Besides, there are so many good things coming and it is much easier for me to overlook the bad one and focus on the good one instead. Undeniably, I do get upset by some incidents or remark that happened to me. I’d curse and whine but after that I’d just forget about that and move on with life.

It doesn’t take much for one to be happy, honestly. Just count your blessing, your limbs and organs are working fine, you have food prepared for you on the table, you have roof over your head and comfortable shelter to sleep in every night. Your basic necessity as human is fulfilled, shouldn’t you be grateful? I know I am. That’s what I keep reminding myself of.

Maybe that explains the happiness that bursting inside of me. Positive thinking is definitely the best pick-me-up. Try it! Spread the happiness around.

Sorry for the long winding wordy post. Here are some pictures to compensate for that. Taken from my Instagram. Sort of like a pop up version of Instagram picture from my right sidebar.

Went to yoga the other day and it felt so good to sweat. Sorry I accidentally captured that woman's ass, LOL

Weighted myself and found out I've lost some weight, again.

My very own fettucine carbonara. I made this and been having it twice since last week.

Got sick of carb, so I made fish porridge one night.

Pino with his new haircut. He's turning 4 this year.
