Homemade Spaghetti

When bf was back at Sibu last week, we tried on something new. We cooked our own spaghetti including the spaghetti sauce. I never made my own sauce because I always buy the instant or ready made sauce to go with my spaghetti.

I was skeptical at first when bf said he would prepare the sauce from scratch. Man when they cook, they need no recipe at all. When I asked him what he needed, he said just the normal stuff for cooking. I was like 0.o
Missing the "h" in the picture above hehehe

The ingredients are:
 Chopped garlic
Diced red onion
Finely diced onion
Half clove (?) of capsicum
Tomatoes
Hotdogs
3/4 of tomato sauce
2 eggs
2 slices of cheddar cheese (the one for burger filling)
Olive oil or normal cooking oil will do

We He just added up everything as he like when he cooked. So there's no exact measurement of how much of this or how much of that needed. I guess you just have to trust your instinct.

The steps are as usual. Boil your spaghetti with a pinch of salt and olive oil until it is soft enough to be eaten. Meanwhile, you can start preparing your sauce.

Heat up your pan with olive oil

Saute the garlic, red onion and onion

Or better yet, get your man to saute everything for you
*The man above is not for sale*

When it turns golden brown, add in your hotdogs and tomatoes sauce. Then add in the capsicum and tomatoes till everything is nicely cooked. The last step is to add in the eggs and cheese slices. You can skip this if you are not keen with egg and cheese. But be warn that by adding eggs, it will make your sauce look a bit ewwww but it taste so good.

Bf forgot to put in salt but the combination of the ingredients compliment each other so well that the taste hit the perfect notch. It was our perfect Saturday lunch. As you can see, the ingredients are readily available in your kitchen, for the one that you don't have, you just have to improvise. Like us, the only cheese that we have are the cheddar cheese for the burger filling, so we gave it a go.

Our homemade spaghetti

Don't let the look fool you because we licked our plate clean in 15 minutes.
You know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover.
