Phuket Day 3 - Islands Hopping

My Phuket travel tale continues. I blogged about Day 1 & 2 here. So on day 3, we decided to go for island tour. We just randomly picked a tour from tour agent stall since every tour agents work for almost the same company. The island tour included transport to and fro from our hotel, tea break, lunch and soft drinks on boat. Trick: gather all of your friends, the more the merrier because you can bargain the tour price till as low as RM100. Additional trick: feel free to flirt with your tour agent to get more discount. I tried but it didn't work. :(

Briefing 8 am in the morning, spot me! The loner obviously, surrounded by other tourists.

Getting ready to hop on my yacht boat

Thank God I took the sea sick pill during briefing because our boat ride was a tough one. The tide was quite high and the current were strong. One time the bf really need to use the toilet and we had to stop in the middle of the ocean, so he could use the world smallest toilet in the speed boat. Because our captain turned off the boat engine, the boat was floating around dancing to the current. A girl couldn't help it and throwing up on the boat. Poor girl, her face literally turned green.

Reaching Maya Bay

Totally in awe admiring the view

We stepped on the same land beach as Leonardo DiCaprio

Next destination is Viking Cave.

I don't remember what's inside Viking Cave but initially tourists are allowed to go in but right now it was closed due to maintenance or something, I don't really remember. The effect of blogging about this 2 months later. Forgive me please.

We also stopped by the Monkey Beach

Freaking out because the monkey was approaching me

My monkey

Just strolling along the beach yo

Notice the little monkey sitting on the trunk, he/she was so chillax, minding her own business

Monkeys there are so relaxing and none of them actually care about us. They were just playing with each other and occasionally running here and there. Look quite harmless but I won't try to come in contact with them tho. We were warned beforehand not to feed them and come in contact with them as they might feel threaten and become aggressive.

Our next activity is my favorite one, snorkeling. I had so much fun looking at the little colorful fish. It was really beautiful. I love chasing them in the water, trying to touch them but they swam so fast. Pfffttt
Getting my gear ready

All set and ready to jump into the water

If you look closely, you literally can see the fish in the water on the left side.
Can you spot the little blue fish??

Our final spot is Khai Nok Island for lunch and relaxing on the beach

The buffet selection. Everything taste good when you're hungry.
And chilled Coca Cola taste even better after you spend whole day in the salt water.

Exploring the island

While the bf joined others playing beach volleyball

Looking back at all these photos make me miss Phuket so much especially the beach. One of the dream is to have a beach house but it is near impossible :( I love being so carefree and not to think about anything, no deadlines, no errands. Just being in the moment and exploring and absorbing the new surrounding.

I need another holiday. Seriously.

Temporary babysitter

Hi you all!
How was your Malaysia Day long weekend?
Mine was exhausted.
It was spent being a temporary babysitter.
I think I am good at it, I mean Danish is pretty happy and active all the time.

Look!

He has the cutest smile ever

But don't let the look fool you.

He changed completely from the all-smiley kid to shrieking and kicking in just a split second when I refused to let him play with my camera.

But when I cuddled him, he stop crying and just looked at me with his innocent eyes.
It just melt my heart.

When I put him down again, the shrieking and kicking show continues.

Hmmmm
I don't think I'm ready for motherhood.

I got me a new toy

I got myself a new toy last week!! Woohoooo!! After years of blogging and being vain, I have never own a proper camera. Yup, all these years my photos are taken with Iphone 4 and any phones that I owned before this. I have been toying with the idea of getting a proper camera after I read about the launching of Lumix GF 6.

But it is impossible to get hold of Lumix GF 6 here, I've asked so many places and none of them have it. Of course I have been doing some research online and playing with some cameras at the stores and that's where I met the current love of my life, Sony NEX 5R.

Flip screen for vain me, checked!
Wifi for easier photo sharing, checked!!
DSLR quality in a compact size, checked!!!

I'm not a professional when it comes to camera stuff but I really love this one. The picture quality is great though I'm still struggling to learn what is aperture, how to control the shutter, what mode for outdoor, what mode for poor lighting etc.

Anyway, brace yourself for lots of my vain pictures ahead, makeup-less nonetheless because I've been lazy and slacking off in taking care of how I look these days. I know you would have thought that I'll be paying more attention to my makeup since I finally got myself camera but I really lazy and not in the mood.

All of these pictures were taken with Sony NEX -5R

Trying out different picture effects, this one was soft skin

That's all. I'm so excited to bring my camera everywhere with me now but I always forgot. -__- Like today, I forgot to pack it when I head over to the bf's place. Now I can't take loads of picture of  little Eden. Bummer.

Phuket Day 1 & 2

A proper entry for my Phuket trip last July. We planned this trip since last year and imagine my anticipation for July'13 to come. I have to admit that Thailand always amaze me. I really love Phuket especially their beaches and islands but more on that in the next entry.

The flight from Sibu-KL-Phuket were all pleasant one. I even had extra seat to put my legs up and read my Agatha Christie comfortably.

A little shopping spree at Kl before flying off to Phuket the next day.
 Bikini is from H&M
Gold sandal is from Forever 21

Explored Patong Beach on the first night

Must have street food banana nutella crepe

You never have to worry about food if you're travelling to Phuket because everywhere on the streets or at any corner, they always have stalls selling various kind of finger food. From their signature mango sticky rice to lok lok and crepe, they have it all. And the best news is none of us suffering from diarrhea throughout the trip.

Must do in Phuket or Thailand in general

I feel like a midget

We strolled along  the beach area checking out the surrounding. As expected, it was packed with tourists since it was the beginning of summer. We had quite a hard time deciding where to eat as the choices are unlimited. It's funny how there are so many Indian restaurants in Phuket, I'm not sure if they are local. One word of advice tho, some restaurants has ushers that bring their menu around the area and forcing trying to get you to try their food. It happened once to us, this usher approached us with a menu, everything looks good on the menu, so we follow him to the restaurant, turned out the restaurant is empty :( and the food was just okay but expensive.

For dinner on the first night, we settled for The Orchid restaurant as we wanted an authentic Thai cuisine. Food was great and matched their price. Plus they have free wifi too. None of us has data roaming, so free wifi is on top of our list for places to eat. We're (or me) really pathetic.

Another must do thing in Phuket is going for their Thai massage. After tired of walking around, we went for an hour of Thai massage and it was a bliss. A little tip here : Don't go for massage parlor along the main road or where it is more accessible as they tend to charge higher for the same service. We went to the one on the alley nearby our hotel. Don't worry, it is not the dodgy kind and only 200 Thai Baht.

Woke up early the next morning but it was raining and their shops/cafes all were still close. We continued exploring the neighborhood to check out Bangla Street, Night Market and some popular cafes.

Settled down for dim sum for breakfast. I remember we had delicious drinks here made from rosette (?)

Jungceylon Mall, one and only mall at Patong

Loitering outside the mall waiting for it to open at 11 am

#ootd

 Outside of Jungceylon

Grocery shopping at The Big C

We literally walked all day from one place to another and refrain from using Tuk Tuk or Taxi because it was expensive. Plus everything at Patong is actually within walking range. So no worry, it you're tired, just go for foot massage, super cheap also.

Shopping at Patong literally consists of those stalls on the road side and alleys that sell lots of merchandise. I kinda regret packed so much clothes for this trip because I didn't end up using all of them. Everything that you need from tops, bikinis, shorts, hats, bags and flip flops were sold very cheap.

Checking out the Irish Bars
All the huts along this road are Irish Bars and very crowded at night

My dolphin tattoo

We went to the beach at the evening

Had Pad Thai at the restaurant that we were ushered to.

So, that's a wrap of my Phuket Day 1 & 2. Basically all that we did was walking and eating. It was very leisure as we stayed there for 5 days.

Pet Peeve

Today let's talk about pet peeves. I'm in a mood to compiling all sorts of things that annoy me. First, I need to explain what pet peeve means because I asked or told (can't remember which because it was long time ago) someone before about pet peeve and he thought I was talking about pet. -_______________- major fail.

Pet peeve means an irritating experience caused by others in which you cannot control. Basically means anything that others do that beyond your control and piss you off. Well, I have a lots.

#1 Slow driver on fast lane.

Please tell me how could you not be angry at these kind of drivers. It called fast lane for a reason after all. Morons are everywhere on the road these days, so I kinda accepting this fact already. Because if not, my blood pressure probably going high. So not worth it.

#2 Lazy people
What I mean by lazy people is not the lazy, don't want to do this, don't want do that kind. We all have our lazy days after all. This laziness that I talk about here is the super lazy till don't want to use their eyeball to see words/signs and read it.

I saw this kind of lazy people in the internet all the time. Like someone post up a picture of food and tagged the place, still got people commented and asked Looks yummy, where is this? Hello, he/she already tagged the place, you so lazy cannot read is it? Or maybe they just plain stupid.

One more example is when people already wrote some sort of explanation of their picture, be it the name of places, food name etc. Be sure to find someone asking in the comment Wow, where is that? It happened to me and really boiled my blood.

See!

Tell me how could I not be angry when I specifically already wrote Phuket in my caption and people had the courtesy to ask where. Maybe he never heard of Phuket. Turned out he really never heard of it in the end because he replied me saying Phuket is unknown country ='=

Sigh, with the power of internet these day, you still see this kind of people floating around.

#3 People whom never pay what they owe or delaying it on purpose
Someone was using my money to purchase something online and promised me will pay me back in the evening. Thinking that this someone will pay me back, I didn't withdraw money for my expenses this week since this someone will pay me in cash. But this someone forgot to withdraw money to pay me back. So, I said okay since I got 50 bucks left. This someone promised to pay the next day instead. The next day came and this someone still gave me the same reason, some more rolling her fucking eyes at me (yeah, it's a her) when I asked for the money.

HELLO, YOU OWE ME MONEY, YOU PAY ME BACK! I'M GOOD ENOUGH LET YOU CHARGE YOUR PURCHASE ON MY CARD AND I MYSELF WILL PAY FOR THE SERVICE TAX AT THE END OF YEAR, YOU STILL GOT GUT ROLLED YOUR EYES ON ME. IF YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY, LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. FUCK YOU.

Well, that's a blast. I am super angry right now because the above situation just happened.

#4 One sided listener
What I mean by one sided listener is someone whom only listen to one side of the story and starts assuming. This kind of people is the worst. They don't even know the whole story and already they decided who's at fault. Are you even know what actually happened? Are you there witnessing the whole time? Yeah, you heard that side of the story, how about my side now? So, she/he's the only in their life have problems and I don't? 别人有苦衷,我就没有?My blood just boils by typing this.

The more I write, the angrier I get because I encountered all of those above especially #3 and #4 which is just few hours ago. I have more pet peeves actually but I think I had wrote enough. But it feels good actually to jot everything here. I haven't been this raw in my writing for quite some time because I fear of being judge. But then again, this is my blog and my space, so if I have a bad day or angry at someone/something, I have all the right to whine/curse/rant here.

So, forgive me if you just waste 5 minutes of your life to read about my pet peeve. Now you can close this tab and thank you for reading.
