Birthday wishlist

It is my birthday month finally!
Honestly I really love birthdays and started counting down right after Christmas.
Birthday after you passed your mid 20s comes with a mixed feeling for me.
I'm happy because it is my birthday (duh!) but I'm sad too because I'm soon approaching the big 30 wtf. Feel so ancient now.

Birthday has different meaning to me now that I'm fully an adult. It is no longer about partying, how many Facebook birthday messages you get or who remember your birthday and who doesn't? Now it is all about being grateful to be able to turn a year older, maintain healthy and being the better person that I was before.

The highlight of birthday is of course it is the one day out of 366 days that you get to be spoiled. Hahahaha you're the big boss on your birthday and of course the gifts. It is the day that you will get shower with wishes and gifts.

Anyway, this year I came up with a short list of the things that I want for my birthday. Actually it is my Christmas list that I carried forward to my birthday. Something that I would love to own and definitely will spend my money on.

Can you see how pretty the dUCk planner is? I fell for the soft and feminine color of the planner when it was first launched in FashionValet. I have planner from Muji for 2015 but I still use now. It is very useful because that's where I wrote down my blog ideas, travel plans and even my financial target and monthly budget. I had seen the dUCk planner layout and pages, so pretty guys! It even comes with inspirational quotes and illustrations as well as voucher for their partner brands.
It retails at RM120 from FashionValet

2) Nike Roshe

This is something new for me because I don't dig girls wearing sneaker for outing until last year. Blame it on Kendall Jenner but she makes it look so effortless and stylish. And most important thing, it is comfortable. I was really close to get one while I was in Hong Kong. We were walking around Sneaker Street and I was in my ankle boot which hurt my feet so much that I succumbed and bought a Nike Air Max to wear on the spot. I did tried to look for Roshe but mostly sold out in my size (size 4, by the way). Until next two days we went to Harbour City and I was in another Nike store. They stocks the Roshe that I want (plain solid color) in my size and way cheaper than my Air Max.

Dulan to the max la. I can't be greedy and get another sneaker so I passed at the chance. Now that I'm back here in Sibu, I still think about the Roshe. I'm too stingy to get it myself , maybe I can get it as a gift? hehehhe

3) Shopaholic to the Rescue by Sophie Kinsella

The Shopaholic series is my favorite book when I was younger. I love it so much that I even blogged about it before back in 2010. I had every books in this series except the new one. It feels like I'm growing up with Becky Bloomwood, from where she confessed her shopping addiction, met her now husband, got married, discovered she has half sister, moving abroad, got pregnant and so on, I've read it all. Except the latest book, Shopaholic to the Rescue.

It is the continuation from Shopaholic to the Star because in the last book, the story sort of hanging there. I would really love to add the new book to my collection and reminiscing about the good times I had reading Becky Bloomwood.

I can't think of anything else to add to the list. So that's all for now.

The late birthday post

Call it growing wiser but I'm no longer anticipate my birthday this year. Probably because I have hit the mid 20's mark and on my way to the 30's wtf. As long I have this blog, I've documented my birthday here and this tradition shall continue because it will be a great read for me when I'm older.

Read about my birthday when I turned 21,  22, 23, 24, & 25 here.

There's no more surprise element for me because the birthday celebration is kind of family tradition where we gather together for birthday dinner and blow the candles and stuff. I already had my birthday dinner with my friends earlier.

But my sweet friends still manage to surprise me with birthday breakfast on the actual day.
Hot chocolate delivered to my office along with hot dogs and cake. <3 p="">
I'm not even sorry having Oreo cheesecake as lunch hahaha

We had steamboat at home. I've requested for prawns and the sweet bf was peeling all of my prawns for me hahaha This is a very rare case because he don't like prawn plus I'm a pro at peeling prawn with fork only.

You know you're old  no longer young when your candles almost overtaking the whole cake.

It was a simple celebration and my wishes remains almost the same as far as I remember. LOL.

Say real one, I'm feeling pressure when people want to do my wish before blowing candles and I basically wish for the most basic things.

Full and content.

My 2014 Christmas

A quick post before I retreat to bed. It is raining since 6pm till now (10.23pm) and my bed and comfy blanket is calling for me. This will be a short recap of my Christmas 2014. Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year simply because it makes me happy. Everyone is extra mushy and the weather is perfect because it rains most of the days and I just feel thankful for everything as I tend to reflect my year on the December especially when the new year is drawing near.

My Christmas tree is up on the third week of December. It is the same tree from the previous year with the same ornaments. Next year I'm gonna upgrade the tree and get a bigger one and get a theme for my ornaments.

If I have a family of my own one day, I'm gonna instill the spirit of Christmas in them. We'll exchange gifts, write letters to Santa, open advent calender, have Christmas dinner, wear Christmas pjs and appreciate the togetherness of everyone.

If you're wondering why I don't start now instead of waiting for my own family to start the tradition, it is because not everyone in the family share the same love of Christmas with me. So, it will better to instill the spirit since young.

Steamboat on a rainy day for a friend's birthday. You can tell that we are all growing old up by the way we celebrate birthdays. Last time it was all about party and club but now it is a nice meal with loved ones.

I hope this is not a sign that we are growing old and another step closer to be a boring person. T_T

Kompia for afternoon tea break on Christmas Day. So not Christmassy, I know.

My Bak Kut Teh lunch last week since I'm sharing about food here. You know the economy is bad when the price is marked up but the ingredients are cut down. Sucks :(

Walking my furry boy when it is not raining. Sorry you get VIP view to his asshole lolololol

The next day after Christmas I flew to Miri to join my family for a wedding dinner. It was a very last minute decision because I actually planned to stay in Sibu since I got something up here. But I haven't see my cousins in such a long time as we used to spend Christmas/new year together when I was still a student.

Attempting red lip and I quite like it. The lipstick is from Sephora and the color is ermm Red hahahaha. Good job on being straightforward with name Sephora.

Le cousin plus siblings.

With my brother that I flown in to surprise my dad. My parents were sure surprised to find him knocking on their hotel room in the morning. #successkid.jpg

Posted this in my Dayre and it forced me to crop out my face, so repost here again. My dad now is such a Starbucks convert. He is the ones that always suggest for Starbucks every time we're in Miri or Kuching.

My dad birthday is on the last day of the year, so we throw a little early surprise for him since everyone are in town. We really nailed the surprise this year because he saw none of it coming or he is just really good at hiding it hahahha

This sums up my Christmas week and now I'm back to my daily grind. I'm really excited about the new year because it means a clean slate to start all over again for me. I've already starting to clear out documents at work to welcome the new year.

Every year I set new year resolutions for myself and every year I've failed. Besides, my resolutions have not change for the past 3 years. It is always : 1) Save more money, control my spending 2) Get back to healthy lifestyle 3) Travel often.

Well, this time I'm gonna do it differently and I'll write another post for that.

Sara 25th Birthday

Last Friday I went out with the girls to celebrate Sara's birthday. I remember I blogged about her birthday here last year. Wow, I really can't believe the year goes by so fast. I means we're all 25 years old now, feel so old yet so I still feel like nothing has changed ever since.

Mummy turned 46

So my mum turned 46 this month and as family tradition, we went out for dinner. It was just a simple dinner every time it comes to birthday, but that also means dressed up time.

Wearing my dress from Twenty3 that I bought years ago, it was still a tad too big for me and this is the 3rd time I've wore it

We're having quite hard time to find restaurant for dinner because choices are pretty limited here. Most of the time we ended up recycling the same cafes or restaurants for dinner. So this time I brought my family to 美味餐厅.

The anti social

The couple

The parents

I have not frequent this place much recent year but it surprised me how good the food was. I'm tempted to post the aftermath photo of our dinner but we're messy eaters, so no photo but we finished it all. Unlike last time when we went for my birthday at Golden Happiness, we barely touched the food and did takeaway. Still the food ended up in the trash after 3 days in the fridge because it was just horrible.

The usual broccoli with mushrooms

Steamed fish

Pork ribs

Butter kailan

Something something chicken, i don't know the name of the dishes because I was late and they already ordered everything when I reached.

Make a wish wishes mummy!

The whole family and some friends

We also have this tradition where we take turn to feed the birthday girl/boy cake and we go from eldest to youngest. I don't know why we did this but I guess everyone want to take part in feeding the birthday woman.

Happy birthday mummy! I hope all of your wishes come true and be healthy and happy always.

Guess who woke up just when we finished dinner?

The little munchkin
Yup, he was with us the whole dinner. When we're eating, he was sleeping on the chair and only woke up when we're done. Good boy <3 p="">
