Temptation | work | fitness

You guys know how much I love shopping but lately I have to spend wise because I'm on a sort of shopping ban because I wanna save up money for travelling but well, temptations are everywhere and I couldn't help it. I'm the kind of girl that get bore easily and I'll browse the net to pass time. And yeah, time does flies when I'm on the net, so does my money. It was so easy to shop in my pj, lying on my bed, clicking here and there and voila, my parcels will arrive in the next few days.

But I see an improvement in myself lately. I tend to stall longer and think thoroughly this time. I no longer shop on impulse. The biggest improvement ever.
                 *********************************

Yesterday (Friday) was the busiest day that I ever had in my entire working life. But I still managed it and finally learn to say no to those whom push their works to me. It gave me the biggest satisfactory ever. Because it such an easy calculation, I see no point for me to calculate everything for others because they themselves can do it. It is just a matter of they want or not. And well, I obviously do not want to do it.
                 *********************************

I have decided to get back on track for keeping fit lately starting by doing some squats challenge at home. This is the area that I really have been slacking on and I couldn't bear the thought of my flabby tummy and thighs anymore. My current workout only involves squatting and cardio. Finger cross real hard that my determination won't die halfway.
                 *********************************

I have some sort of plans that I'm still working on right now. Instead of just dreaming, I think it's time for me to start sketching my plan and working on it because all dreams no work means no real success. A friend of mine used to tell me that getting started is the biggest challenge ever. It takes lot of determination and I hope I got what it takes.

Have a great weekend, peeps.

Thai Food | Sushi Tie | Baba & Siam

I'm still on the look out for a nice and authentic Thai food in my hometown but to no avail. The tomyam doesn't taste the same and I miss it so much. There was once I have this crazy idea to just go back to Bangkok to have their food once again for a weekend. Since I still couldn't find one that meet the standard, I try to create one. Well, with my domestic skill, you should have know the result without me telling you.

Found this awesome cube at my local supermarket which ease up my Thai food craving

The ingredients to recreate the taste. It was close but did not hit home.

I always love breakfast but often find myself torn between looking good for work or feeling energized to start the day ahead. I admit that I'm vain so yeah, I spent most time in the morning making myself look good and only sip a cup of milk tea before rushing out for work.

Most of the time, I just ate hard boiled egg since it is super easy to boil. Takes only 1 minute to put the water and egg in the pot. Can do make up or drying hair while waiting for it to boil.

But on weekend, I love to treat myself well. Scrambled egg, bananas and smoke bacon and of course my tea.

I have this weird craving thing which goes like I will crave for certain food this week, another food next week and the circle will just goes round. The usual craves are sushi, spaghetti, pizzas and tomyam.

First time trying ramen at Sushi Tie.

And these are my usual spread at Sushi Tie

On Labor Day is actually is my sister birthday, so as usual, we went out for celebration. Location this time is Baba & Siam Cafe. I used to frequent this cafe a lot last year until they closed down their branch at downtown. Since then, I kinda forget about this place until recently.

The food was a disappointment to all of us. They used to have great food but now everything just mediocre. However, their service still up to par. It is a great place for hang out but not to dine, I guess.

My sister's cake

This is the true scene when we were out dining, everyone were on their phones except my mom. #truestory.

List of Lust #1

I have been eyeing this Sigma beauty brush since last 2 months but Luxola was out of stock of this. A while ago, I received an email from Luxola stating that Mrs. Bunny Travel Kit is now back on stock and they have 15% off for your first time shopping with them. The offer is very tempting but I'm aware that I can live without that now and I have vacations in June and July that I should save up for.

Ahhh, a pink Prada Saffiano leather wallet. Something that will look nice in my bag but will burn a big hole in my pocket.

This is not something that I fell in love with immediately but after a few times seeing the celebrities toting this and the Jenner sisters instagram-ing their Celine bags, I couldn't help but to develop interest in this sought after IT bag. 2 days ago I was doing my grocery shopping in a local mall, I stumbled upon a Celine inspired bag by Summit, I knew I have to have it. At much cheaper price and still stylish, it will be perfect for work or leisure. Finger cross the bag will still available till next week.

I'm aware how the price is escalating as my list grow longer but pardon me, this perfect bag had been on my list since long time ago. And it will stay there until I move it to my closet maybe in the next 2 years or more.

Sunday's Rants

I have been keeping a lot of things to myself lately because seriously, if I were to speak my mind out loud, lots of people are going to be offended. Where else to blurt everything out if not on my own personal space here.

When I was little, we were told to get good result in school, get a degree, get a job and find your other half. I have ticked 'checked' on all the list now but something is missing. I'm not happy. Not to say that I'm not content with my current situation and I'm not being grateful for all the blessing in my life. But I always feel like something is missing.

I always feel like there's something more to life than just peacefully passing your day. I need an adventure, trying something new. If there's one thing that I regret, it would be me not saving enough money during my uni time and use it for my gap year adventure. I want to explore the world outside there. Often I read about others travel tales and adventures, I always made a mental note to myself: I must go there too, I need to experience those too. I know I still can do it now too but with a job on the line, I feel like I'm being tie up with an invisible rope. There's more to consider, I have restricted time.

Everyday is pretty much a routine for me and I hate it. I hate doing the same thing over and over again for 5 days a week. Maybe this is the root of my problem. It's the routine. I just need to shake things up a little bit.

Move on to another thing that really fire me up is how most people these day are playing the sympathy cards. They always always rely on others to get them something that they should have done it themselves. The problem is whatever they need is actually something that they can work for themselves. But why ask from others? Is it because others have more in their life so they are obliged to help you out? Don't they know that money does not fall from the sky into their lap? Yes, others may have more than you but have you ever thought that they have more because they work harder? And the worst case is, these people are not even appreciating the opportunities given to them to change their lives. Seriously, people? What is wrong with you?!

Rants over, now I feel a lot better.

Snippet of my week

I miss writing about my everyday life, so here's a snippet of my week last week. I have been away from most of social networks because the bf was back and I want to spend as much time as possible with him since he's only be back for a short week.

Sing K session at The Terminal

It was a bad day for the bf because he got a sudden gastric attack which lasted until the next day. I totally understand how bad it can be because I had that horrible gastric pain before. It just happened out of sudden.

Selfie
Lately I had been noticing how unbalance my face is, the left profile and right profile are obviously not balance. It could be the angle as well, maybe I just need more camwhoring practice. I really has lost the camwhoring mojo.

Stalking the bf singing from afar since I can sing, so I only sat at a corner listening to him singing.

This is us fooling around during lunch while waiting for our food

My Tomyam Fish Mihun soup so yummy

Bf's Samba Mee

We were having lunch at Mistu Shabu Shabu that day and when I walked in, I immediately greeted by oh so delicious steamboat scent like Tian Xiang Hui Wei and told bf we should try their steamboat. I haven't had their steamboat since the longest time ever, I think it was 4 or 5 years back.

So you guess where we had our dinner that night. I had seafood+lamb+beef for my steamboat, it was good but since their soup base is clear, so do not expect your soup to be full of flavors. I really regretted having lamb that night. I threw up before bed because I feel nausea due to the lamb. The taste of it lingered on my throat and really made me wanna throw up and I did. I guess I'll stay away from lamb from now on.

It was Sara birthday last Thursday so we had her birthday dinner at Bisteca Bistro. Went to 96 for a quick beer afterward. Great company for a great night.

With Yu fen

It's funny how we don't know that we were in the same National Service camp for 3 months and only found out about that after we left the camp. All this while we thought that we knew each other through Sara. Funny how small this world can be. Actually the bf and me were also in the same camp and we didn't even know it until we were together.

With the birthday girl, may all of your wishes come true girl

I saw the most gorgeous rainbow the other day, basically it has all the rainbow colors and so bright and clear. The little thing in life that makes me happy.

Donuts and healthy desserts for late lunch on Saturday.

I think I need to take more photos in my everyday life because I can't seem to recall what I did after few days later. Sometimes it feels like time is just flying by and I have no memory of it. Maybe I need a camera.

New addition of makeup

One of my current resolution is to learn proper make up techniques and few weeks ago, I bought some new makeups to try and see if it works for me. This resolution is sparked by my interest of watching beauty videos from Youtube for the past few months.

I did my research online and it was very tempting to click "buy" or "add to cart" at every makeup items that I laid my eyes on. But in the end, I settled for the basic. The NYX Eyeshadow Palette, NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer and Physicians Formula Concealer RX are from http://www.colourscosmeticsmalaysia.com/ meanwhile the rest are from local drugstore, Guardian.

I heard a lot of good review about this concealer that why I decided to get my hands on it. However, it is a bit disappointing tho. It is either I'm too noob or I applied it the wrong way, this concealer did not blend well and too dry which makes it hard to blend. A little amount of this goes a long way or else you will end up looking like a pale green monster.

I never own an eye shadow palette before and not very adventurous with my eye makeup, therefore Champagne & Caviar is my choice. It comes in a very natural and subtle color of earth which makes it suitable for everyday use. The quality of the shadow is okay for a drugstore level. It is not pigmented and matte.

I wasn't planning on getting this concealer at first but the product that I wanted was sold out and the owner asked me to change. I picked the color fair for this concealer and it ended being too fair on me and require a lot of blending. Enough said, I still prefer my The Balm Time Balm Concealer.

A highlighting pen from Loreal, another concealer that I picked up from Guardian. I only use this to highlight my nose bridge and forehead. It doesn't work well to cover dark circle tho.

The rest of products that I got are Revlon 24 hours  ColorStay foundation (good coverage and really long lasting), Revlon Grow Luscious By Fabulous Mascara (smudge badly on me, maybe I should stick with Maybelline mascaras) and Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lipstain in the color of Rendezvous (which is orange color, the current popular color).

After all the experimenting, at least now I know what works for me. Do give me some tips or recommendation of product to try if you have any. :)

Happy mid April everyone!

Failed Carbonara

So, I attempted to make creamy carbonara today. I had all of my ingredients ready except bacon because there's no supermarket that sell one in Sibu or it's me whom do not search enough.
I typed in "how to make creamy carbonara" in Youtube and found one that look simple enough.
Boiled, whisked, mixed and everything is ready.

Pfffttt, it's a lie. They lied or again, it's me whom can't cook at all. I refused to believe the latter.
I prepared everything as instructed.
Cooking cream, checked.
Egg, checked.
Parmesan cheese, checked.
Pepper, checked.

In the end, my so called carbonara is tasteless.
Thank God I bought a ready made sauce.
Heated it up and poured it over my tasteless carbonara.

I wonder when will I ever master the art of cooking.
Numerous tries and I still failed.
